They are nice. Mine works great. A little more info on how you ride. The girl I would think would be very happy.

The 05's are pretty sweet with the candy blue powder on the frame and the piggybacks on front shocks! Great bikes!
I just bought a '04 for my wife for Xmas...great bike. After I bought it, I started a thread in here asking for info on do's and don'ts. I got some really good info.
http://www.glamisdunes.com/invision/index....showtopic=33867The reason I bought a '04 over a '05, was they were selling them for $2000.00 less than the '05s and the only real different was the front shocks and you can get way better shocks for $2000.00! If you get a Z400, the ALBA pipe kit and going down a tooth on the front sprocket is the way to go, you can really tell a difference and you're not going to find a better deal on a pipe kit anywhere else.

Great bike, IMO, the 05's aer killer's, they are great, they still have the frame problem, which unless you do huge jumping there is nothing to worry about, the white and blue is awesome, i wish my 04' came with a blue frame,
i second the alba kit
the new style pipe, with k&n, billet adaptor, outearwear, and jetting for $450, and then a 13t sprocket, $15 or so,
the front shocks are also rebuildable

I bought my kids an 03 z400 when they came out.I put on the White Bros kit(slip on pipe, filter and jet) it has been bullet prof. I almost bought another one a few weeks ago. But my son wanted a polaris pred so I picked him up one of those. I think the z400 is easyer to ride. But what do I know I just drive my buggy anyway.

Depends on how you ride as noted above. But, I personally believe the suzuki/kawi 400's are the best "bang for the buck" package out there. Great bike for the wife: plenty of power, easy to steer, light frontend, comfy seating. Great cruiser bike for a guy with enough power to keep up on group rides. If you have to be the first guy up the hill, or ride very hard, I'd step up to either of the 450's, but if you just want to have a good time, and not worry about your ride, these are awesome bikes. I have an 03 zuki that I bought in june of 02, and it's been ridden pretty hard with no problems (and it's now our "spare" ride)..The wife loves her 04 kawi too.

$2000 less? The biggest price difference we saw here between the '04 and '05 was less than $500. Or was this at Alba?

Fun Bike Center in San Diego. They only had a couple of '04s left and wanted them GONE! Of course it took the normal wheel and deal but I believe it was worth it.
After my daught rode it, I should have bought the other one to!

$2000 off their regular price or MSRP? Just seems like an incredible amount off-$2000 would be almost 40% off!

i am wanting to find my girlfriend a good starting quad. she has ridden my banshee, and doesn't like the power band. Would it be smart to get her a 400 (LTZ or KFX), or go ahead and spend a few more hundred and get a 450R?
thanks,
Kelly

The only reason I dont like the 450r for women is the kick start. I know my wife has a hard time kick starting bikes. The 400's are a great bike for the girls and makes for a pretty nice night time cruiser for guys.

The choice would be a no brainer for me...the Z400 has an electric start...

But is she an experienced rider? Is she wanting to go big? I would think the Z400 would be a great for anyone and the price and dependability is good to.

The z400 would be the best choice. IMO Do to electric start, enough power for her, and reverse.
