This is my reply that went to Yuma Sun, IV Press, and Press-Enterprise last Saturday via snail mail. It will take a while to download because there is a map in it.

Feel free to distribute it far and wide. Take my name off and put your on if you want.

I put it on the new and old server so it won't matter which one we are on at the moment.

I just got back from Glamis, and man was I ****en ****ed off when I got back to camp after the first ride [Angry Fire] . we took a ride from gecko down to Pair-a-dice on sand highway. and man did I learn a thing or two on that little joy ride. It gave me a whole other out look on what these people took from us. It hurt to see all of that beautiful land go to waste. we rode for over an hour, and all we seen was what we couldn't have. Before this little trip we took, I had only seen a map of what they took, but seening it in person, it really hit home. I think back now and then to when I was a kid. We could ride for hours and never see but more then four or five people max in a day. You could ride for ever and never hit the same trails twice, and now with more people getting into the sport we are running out of room. And they say there doing it all to "SAVE THE DUNES" haha... thats a good one. lets see, the last time I checked putting more and more people into a smaller and smaller area really doesn't help much. It just makes that part twice as bad.....just my two cents

I've said before that I think everyone who loves Glamis and hates losing any of it should ride the closure boundaries a couple of times a season. I've actually overheard people say "it's great, we still have plenty of room to ride" and that's just not the point.

Those closures do not belong there. They were put in place illegally, they were put in place with no basis of fact and they destroy the beauty that is Glamis.

But we forget and so we become complacent. A ride along those disgusting markers will slap you awake every time.

DUNE
Dam thing looks like a military war map, the way we have been encircled then divided into north and south. That's the way you kill off an enemy, divide and conquer. [Angry Fire]

What's even more depressing is if you look at how much of the open area is actually rideable dune area.

A good portion of it is just flats and other areas where people don't/won't/can't ride.

I might be missing it but is there any estimate on the acreage of all these closures at the ISDRA and surrounding areas? Just curious about the 50% that the extremist litigating organization's spokesgeek is always talking about.
