I live in Texas, and i keep on seeing you guys talking about what price you get your quads for and i can't believe it. How do you all talk the salesmen down on their price?
thanks,
Kelly

NEVER...NEVER...pay for setup and dock fee. The dealerships can eat these fees. If they insist, tell them you'll take one in a crate and set it up yourself...

I can't give out all my secrets...there may be some salesmen or dealers that read this! Good luck!

Just don't take thier first few offers. Somebody said in another thread "if they are still throwing in stuff for free, then they are still ripping you off". That says it all. If you get them down to the lowest that they can sell it to you, then they will never give you something for free. Try to get the stock bike OTD for the MSRP price. Normally you'll have to pay a little more then that.

Since AZ and CA are very competitive markets, and ATV sales are extremely high, most large dealerships here are high-volume, and probably pay less per unit than the dealers in TX. You may not EVER be able to match a deal there that is common here.

My wife got my 450R here in San Diego for MSRP which is $200 more than in LA but it is worth the $200 to get it local. Shop around, know your other local dealer prices and walk out of a shop or 2 and let them call you back.

good luck

Well then I want to know who bought a new YFZ450 (not last years model) OTD for $6899. How about a new Banshee (not last years model) OTD for $6099? How about a new Raptor (not last years model) OTD for $6199? How about a new TRX450R (not last years model) OTD for $6499? Or even a new 400EX (not last years model) OTD for $5299?

My girlfriend just bought a 400ex for $4999 from Motoworld, and I was quoted 6899 for a yfz450 from fun bike center. You can get them for those prices

Champion and Extreme Honda/Suzuki, Tuscon Motorsports for the 400EX. Best OTD in CA I've seen are running about $200 more, except for SDR's pricing above. Like I said though, this was with no haggling, could imagine you could get them even lower-all have a $250 "doc" fee-but I wasn't willing to take the time to haggle over it. The showroom was packed every time we went looking (in the middle of the week in the middle of the day).

Don't I have to pay extra fees if I go to AZ and buy a bike then bring it back to CA?

If you feel you paid a decent price and can afford that price it's all that matters. The only reason I seem to get some great prices is that I am
incredibly CHEAP!, I'd rather keep the money in the bank personally, so if they don't sell it to me for what I want then cool, still got that money in the bank!
Whenever somebody gets a new bike / toy I always ask them if they got a good deal and they always spill the beans on what they paid. I've heard some prices that would have gave me a heart attack

, I'm sure you are doing just fine!

That was how I felt about the 2 Z's we bought for the boys at Christmas. I felt we probably could have gotten a better price if we had haggled but because we did it with such a short time frame, how obvious it was that the dealership was selling bikes literally non-stop all day long, and the fact that I knew there was an issue with finding bikes in the white/blue color scheme and not wanting to have to drive to another dealership to get the second-I went ahead and paid what I did for them. The other issue is almost all the dealers here have a number of stores. Once you find the lowest price between the seperately owned dealers that is usually the price each of those stores owned by the same "group" is going to stick to. For the Suzuki's I didn't have the time to find a small "independant" dealer who might have been more willing to budge on the price....that's what I get out of buying on impulse
I still know I got a good deal on them though

I searched for months to find the cheapest I could. I believe La Honda is it.
There websight is lacyclesports.com I believe. Call them and I am sure they can beat anything you find. They also sell everybrand at 3 different stores. It also matters what time of year you buy. Right now you can get killer deals on 04's. Later in the year 05's will be cheaper. I bought a 04' troy lee special edition predator 500 for $5399 otd that is almost $1000 under msrp. Last week i snatched up one of their last honda 250's for 3299 otd for the wife. Not even Bert's in the La area could match there prices, I know I tried. My local dealer is a total rip off so I drove 3 hrs each way to get these prices, to me it's worth it.
