well, i don't live in that exact area..I am in Riverside County..but, I can tell you this. Off Roading is just an aspect of my trip. OHV use has given me the ability to teach my kids about the stars, how to go out into wilderness, and leave it as we arrived. They have learned about land formations, how the ground became what it is, firearms safety, basic driving techniques, including defensive driving. OHV is a place which brings families together for learning about each other, and building off the strengths of each other. It has taught my kids to appreciate this life, this land. It is a place which they cherish the memories..while understanding that only through good educational effort will they continue to enjoy it with their kids. It gives the opportunity to teach them about basic survival, how to start a fire, how to respect fire, and how to develop their own independance. How to become self reliant. How to think through situations and pre-plan events unforeseen. Off roading is more than riding a vehicle across the desert. It is the environment in which a father passes down his fathers legacies...and knowledge. It's the staircase where parents walk hand in hand with their children, leading a young boy into his life of manhood.
It's funny to me that off roaders get associated with binge drinking. As I look around at all the trailers and motorhomes. I know that the same magic in my camp is occurring in theirs, as evident by all the kids and their parents..together..sharing...laughing...loving...
And that...is not something a house in the city can ever provide.....
