Ok, I'll admit up front that I like my beer very light, and in very small doses.
I like the Coors Light, and maybe a Michelob Ultra every once in a while. I can be entertaining with very little booze in me.

Usually my own beer... whatever I've brewed...
But since I haven't gotten to brew in over a year... I gotta say... Stone IPA, Stone Arrogant Bastard, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Ballast Point Yellowtail pale ale, Ballast Point Big Eye IPA, Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale.
When I'm going for the WT beers... Pabst Blue Ribbon, Miller High Life, Coors Light..
Beers I don't like: Budweiser.

My favorite:

I'll take a good ale over ANY lager any time. Heck I'll take a bad ale over ANY lager.
Favs: Newcastle, Orval, Chimay, Old Nick, Sammuel Smiths Nutbrown...or Oatmeal Stout...or Pale Ale...or...heck any Sammy Smiths! Basically any English or Belgian brown ales.
Least faves...any beer made from more rice than malt listed from least favorite to most tolerable: Coors, Budweiser, Miller. Cheap alcoholic rice water with a hint of malt so they can call it "beer".....not even worth using to rinse out my keg lines. Can't even drink the first two - less than a bottle and I've got a headache and my stomach starts to do somersaults....at least Miller I can drink more than a bottle of without getting violently ill.

It's hard to drink the goood stuff , day in, and day out ?

There's also a bud light box in there if you look closely.
Dosn't mean I drink it though

The wimps who are afriad of beer put that stuff in there for when they come to visit, we don't discriminate against people just because they like rice water instead of beer

Definitely prefer my homebrews. Next would be my neighbors. I prefer mine because I prime with Dried Malt Extract, while he uses corn sugar, so his gets a small apple flavor at the finish, and mine retains the hop finish. My last brew was a American Steam Ale. Easy and mellow. Went real fast at the campsite, and most were drinking Coors light and Miller Lite and liked it. Going for an all grain Porter this week-end. Well see in about 6 weeks.

Priming with malt is way better than corn sugar...but I'm lazy now and just force carbonate in the kegs
Just ordered up a few things for our next batch...not even sure what to call it. Got some spare grains from the last couple of batches so I whipped up a little recipie to use them up. It won't win any style awards but I've got a feeling it's going to be one tasty beer
Mixed bag of Chocolate and Crystal and....I think there's something else in that bin as well. Won't know till I get over there and check what we have left for sure.
About 7 lbs of light dry malt extract
Toss in some Cascade hops for bittering and a mix of Fuggles and Stryian Goldings for flavor/aroma
Mix with some American Ale yeast (Wyeast smack pack)
Always fun to do a "leftover brew" with what you have on hand

Also ordered up the yeast and a new carboy for our first Mead. Going to get local honey from one of the citrus groves for that. Should be a interesting brew night. We'll have our Holliday Cheer (includes orange peel, ginger, cinnamon and honey), a Steam beer, and a rasberry wheat.....but we should be kegging my pale ale this week as well and getting back to more "pure" beers. Think we may have a little Cherry Stout left as well.....

jhitesma,
I have made a few batches of mead before...here's a few tips.
Use a dry champagne yeast or a dry mead yeast. anything else comes out very sweet. 12- 15 pounds of honey to 5 gallons of water works great to. The first mead i made turned out great...after 5 years! Mead really takes time to dry up and let the flavors blend. As you mentioned, orange zest and spices do well in mead to. The last batch I made I finished and fermented with oak chips to give a barrel aged taste. I brewed it in Dec 99 and it is just now getting good. Hope this helps.
I still prefer brewing beer...2 weeks from brew to drink!
