I am wondering what the increase in camp fees are actually doing for services in the dunes. I was at Gordens last weekend and I only seen 3 Rangers, No medical or emergency services. I understand that on big weekends they are out there, but this was a rather large weekend with Monday being a holiday. The reason behind this is my friend got hurt at camp and we spent 7 hours in the ER in Yuma. On any other big weekend this could have still happen but the so called services would have been available for initial treatment and possible transportation. I was glad to help my friend and he is ok now. The rangers I seen out were more interested in hassling kids at the drags and not stopping the people that were causing problems. Also what are the Rangers looking at. Two Rangers were sitting at the pay station on Friday night and did nothing when several dirt bike went by with double riders. I dont want people to think i want more Rangers. I want the money we spend for SERVICES to be utilized for the SERVICES we need.

Very good point. Unfortunately, the South Dunes are treated like the proverbial "red-headed step-child". This has always been one of my "pet peeves".
On the big weekends, the majority of EMS is provided by the Border Patrol's BORNSTR unit at no cost to dune users. BLM does have some EMS on big weekends, other than that you're on your own. The rest of the time, Buttercup camp hosts (when they are there) can contact BLM EMS.
