I have an 03 400EX. I was thinking about upgrading the shocks from stock to ...? I don't really want to replace the A-Arms. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Your cheapest way is to add a set of Works fronts for 300-400. Next step is TCS, AXIS, Elka or the likes.

I've heard of Elka. Is anyone using Works, TCS or Axis? I will probably only ride sand a couple of times a year. The rest of the time it will be "Rockotillo".

Thanks,

I have ELKA's on My banshee, work great! I also have A-Arms.
Dunedemon
I have TCS all the way around on my Banshee - AWESOME shocks!

Stock 450R shocks will also fit and give you a way better ride than works shocks. You can usually find them on ebay for under $300.00 shipped.
Dunegoat
I have Works tripple rate's on my 400. Allthough I also have +3 LT arms and swinger too.

IMO suspension is the BEST money you can spend on your quad

Dune Goat is right. The best money to spend for your ride is in suspension.

I had Works on my 250r, but after an hour of hard pounding, they would sag. They would still give you a better ride than stock, but they would not take the abuse too well.

I am upgrading to Axis. I already have axis on my raptor. Quite expensive, but worth every penny.

Any known brand (PEPS, WORKS, TCS, AXIS, ELKA) with triple rates will do the trick.

where do you guys buy your parts for your 400ex's from? i am looking to set my gf's bike on some new rims and tires (haulers, mohawks). I want to get them powdercoated, and was wondering if they would be cheaper just to order them black?

I just got the Elka "dune edition" fronts for my YFZ and love em. You can get the no ressy ones for about $425 on ebay
