My wife and I decided we are going to sell our 85 ATC 200X. It's in good running condition but could use a little TLC. I don't have any pictures yet, but it's pretty clean except the front fender is broke and the front forks leak. My Question to you guys is; what is a good (fair) asking price? I was thinking between $600-$800. Do you think that is to much or to little or just right? Please advise.

You could probably get $1000 for it if it is in decent shape.

I sold an 85 in decent shape a few years ago for $1000
DUNE
You should get at least 800 for it if it's that clean...
SANDFANATIC
Cool, thanks. That is what I was thinking, but then I started to second guess myself.

Shoot go for it!! worse thing that can happen is you lower the price.
Kevin

200x's are very popular bikes these days..you could easily get $1,000 for it.

$1,000 is a ripoff if it needs ANY TLC.

I bought mine when I was 13 (12 years ago) for $600 and it looked and ran perfect.

My best friends Dad sold his for $500 4 years ago and it was in even better condition than mine.

My old roomate just bought an '85 350X with white plastics for $800 and it runs and looks great.

Unless it's an Original Owner, original "almost mint" plastics and runs awesome, it isn't worth more than $600- $700. If it was an '86 with white plastics, I would be a bit more eager to agree with a higher price though. icon_wink.gif

Just my honest opinion but, I'm not the one buying it either. icon_biggrin.gif

Sounds like you got some great deals, but I think you need to look at the trader though. The going rates are much higher than what you said, even for ones not in mint condition.
Toy Collector
You are correct. There are people out there who know what things are worth and those that don't.

I already have five 3 wheelers, I won't be the one spending my money on it. icon_biggrin.gif

I will however be buying that 350X off of my buddy this summer for $700.

I also have an '83 200x for sell as well... Chargers.gif

Let's see here...

$1300 for this whole package...

Or...

$1,000 for ONE bike that needs work.

A blue seat does NOT make it that much more desirable... before anyone throws that in there.

Just pointing out the facts. thumb.gif

I got a fact for you, but there are no personal attacks allowed on this board laughing.gif icon_wink.gif

Seriously, you got a great deal. Not every body is as lucky as you to find such good deals, you are the best shopper I have ever seen thumb.gif rolleyes.gif

I bought one about 10 years ago very clean for 400 bucks also got an 85 250r in 99 for 950 was in great shape. Also got a friend a deal on a 350x(clean shape),250sx(needs cosmetic work)with trailer for 1200 bucks
Anyone can ask what they want but the bike will only be worth what someone will pay for it so try for the price you want if it doesnt sell after time then you can lower it if you have the patience then you will get the price you want.I see 250r s in the trader for alot 2k and up if i were to buy another i'd rather gor for an ltz 400 for a little more.I see less and less atcs in th dunes but see alot of 450s out now.
