I've never really messed with the rear shock. What's a good starting point? How many clicks from closed? I weight 220. I realize it's different for every bike but I want to have a good starting point.

first set your sag height.

Click me for info.

then run the adjustments wide open. if your bottoming out...close up the compression. if the rear kicks to much for you (thowing you forward) when your takin a jump...slow down the rebound a bit.

jus keep playin with it till ya find what ya like! its a personal thing...and everyone rides a bit differently...

Take it to precision concepts and get a new spring (NOT THE SHOCK). I messed with my compression and rebound for a few years and never could get it right, then a mechanic friend told me that most rear springs are not set up for folks over 190 lbs. Precision concepts replaced my stock spring with an Eibach spring and dialed in my suspension to my weight. I couldn't be happier.

they did my banshee shock. They were pricey as hell though to re spring and revalve it.

you can get YFZ shocks rebuilt to ZPS its wort it if your're not interested in investing in aftermarket shocks
