So I am planning on taking off my air box lid on my warrior(yeah yeah I know its still a warrior) and am wondering what do I do with the breather from the crank case. Do most of you reroute it to the the air box or what??? Just looking for some insight, Presidents day is three weeks away and I am almost ready, just trying to tie up some loose ends

I just extended the one on my yfz down by the swinger, and left it with the rest of the breathers from the carb.

Thanks I wasnt sure If I would just leave it out, but since air flows out and not in I didnt think it would be a problem

K & N filter has several small Breather filters that would work.

It will be fine. If you look at the YZ dirtbikes, they are this way from the factory.

I'm with KFXBob. I'm just not too hip on leaving a direct line into my crankcase wide open in the sand...

My Raptor runs without the lid, and my breather has a cute little K&N filter on it. Peace of mind, I'd say.

Do what you will, but if you hold your breath waiting for a vacuum on that line, you will die of oxygen deprivation.

With ATV's the concern is WATER getting into the airbox/breather/etc.
If You only ride sand or even most of the Desert, its no problem removing the lid and leaving the breather open. I just mentioned the neat little breather filters for those who might be concerned with an open tube leading into the crankcase.
I personally have 2 Quads with lids off and breather tubes open.

Some type of small filter should be put on the end

So, explain to me how water can go up a line from the swinger, all the way to the head, while the pressure is pushing out at the same time? Try this little experiment for me. Take a straw, and put it in your mouth. Now blow into it. Now submerse it into a glass of water, while still blowing into it. Then remove it from the glass while still blowing. Did you get any water in your mouth? Didn't think so Mr. Nuff said. rollsmile.gif
