SAND SUBY
What paddles do you guys recomend, for a 250 ex .For my 12 yr old son.
SHOCKER
[color=blue]Sandskates are good cehap tires. I think they would be the way to go. Unless you wanted to get sandstars or the new sandskates, but they might be too much, im not sure though.[/color[

I would get gliders or something similar, those paddles Shocker mentioned are too much for that bike.
MWBbanshee
I would say Skat-trac Gliders but for a 12 year old kid I would go with a molded type tire instead something cheap keep the paddle hieght low like the Glider. The reason I would not go with the Glider for a 12 year old is they are more likely to run thew old camp fires and run wide open across the hard pack and that will tear up a buff style paddle in a hurry. To put a Sand Star or Sand skate on that small of quad would just be way to much paddle.

I have Sand Sharks on both of my kids 250EX's. They work very well.

Sand Stars are too aggressive as are Sand Skates.

He tried the sand shark and the gecko . He seems to like the sand shark better.
Thanks for the advice everyone

SHOCKER
Oops i meant sandsharks, not sandskates, sorry. There are so many to remember now. icon_wink.gif

I don't like the gecko's
I need paddles for our 250 also. I would think the bike doesn't have enough power for the sharks???? Maybe something not as deep that will spin more???

PapaPerry
Sharks seem to spin fine for my kids on the 250EX.

My son said the geckos bogged the motor ,so he didnt like them.
The sharks were good for him , maybe cause he is a little guy.
He went up comp hill in third with the sharks on. I was impressed
with the sharks they hooked well and slid well, on the turns
SUPERFLY
Have you tried just using knobbies yet? They dont do all that bad in most places.
thor
that's what we've been using the whole season. I think paddles might give it the extra umph. to get up some hills.

SAND SUBY
He has been using the stock knobies, I would like to try some 400 ex
knobies. They might work out better than the stock knobies. I think the
400 knobies are wider.

I have the Sand Stars on our 250X. They work very well. My daughter climbed China wall for the 1st time with them. When she came back, I jumped on and climbed it too. I am 240#.

real light person i would go with Trakkers, my dad has some(doesnt use em) and they are better than knobbies, but they dont reach for the sky when you nail it off the line either. also, a person thats a little new(may not be your case) to the sport will learn quickly how to countersteer with them.

sandstars are the best you're gonna get for the price though, if thats whats gonna matter most to you, and they're a good tire. only thing, though is i've heard they have a tendency to wanna go straight, and not turn so easy, they'll get used to it and right accordingly though

and if you're looking at the sandtire shootout in dirtwheels, disregard everything they said and find another mag that did one, cuz they were totally wrong
PapaPerry
Trevor,

Have your dad bring them out Presidents day. I want to compare them on one of the kids bikes.

have him bring out the trakkers?

well, the ones that arent in use have a rime with the raptor bolt pattern

but christie's bike has the trakkers on it, and if you want, you can ask her if she would mind letting you try em out. she'll most likely let you do it, she prolly isnt gonna ride the whole trip anyway

why can't you go to a local moto store and ask what you should buy?
