SHOCKER
Well like the title says, there is something that the manuals don't tell about and most people dont know.

Well it mostly is when you rebuild your engine, it is bleeding the oil. After you rebuild your engine and all the oil is drained out when you fill it back up you need to bleed the oil from the right side of the engine(Z400). There are 3 bolts, im not exaclty sure still on how you do it, but you need to do it to get the air out because the way the oil pump works the oil is to thick to be pulled through with the air in there, thus no oil flowing causes heat and your engine to seize, like mine :angry

So now i get to go with a new athena kit, and to put my stock cams back in and also might have to get a connecting rod and maybe a crank rebuild or just a bearing, so far, oh and a new cylinder head.

The guy doing my engine has to split the cases and get down in there. So far its not good, hopefully it will just need a new bearing and at worst a new connecting rod, but he is going to put it all together for me.He wont know until he gets into the bottom end.

But when he is almost done with my bike and ready to bleed the oil I will be there to watch and help so i can tell you guys the steps on what to do and how to do it.

This was pretty much unavoidable since none of the manuals for the Z say anything about this. The guy has looked in every or almost every manual for a Z and none of them has mentioned anything about it. He learned it himself and he know his stuff. Effinbees77 recomended him ot me and im glad effinbees77 knew the guy (dave) because he is so smart and i learend so muc just from the 1 1/2 hours i was there at his house. He has done so much work on his own Z motor, he has actually made up his own stroker kit, by modding a stock crank, put in custom billet spacer and had one of a kind connecting rods made. Pretty amazing.

Shocker...that sucks...Sorry to hear about that. I know you had put a lot of work and money into your rebuild. Thanks for the heads up and for sharing the info.
SHOCKER
The guy spent 50 minutes priming effinbees77 motor when he did his. Im just hoping i wont need anything else, like a rebuild and rod, so far it might just need a bearing, it was unavoidable pretty much, i mean unless took the bike to that guy, other wise it was successful, i mean everything was done right and it ran good until it just got too hot. We looked through the manual that came with my bike and we also looked in the brown service manual, the type the dealers use, and it didnt have anything about it either icon_sad.gif
