I have a Quad tht I need to fix for presidents weekend.
I have a quad racer that was damaged by the chain breaking off and ripping the front chain guard off the block. It broke off one of the mounting studs and made a little hole in the case the around the size of the tip of your fingure.
Can I use Jb weld to fill it. GOOD IDEA OR BAD>
I need to know
thanks

I've used JB weld to fix two small holes in a banshee cylinder from a bad port job (company not to be named)that caused two engine rebuilds, but ever since the holes were found the bike has run flawlessly for 3 seasons. Hope that helps, dont know about anyone elses opinions.

You can absolutely use it. JBweld is still holding a rubber plug inside the same hole on an LT250, 5 years later on a friends bike. Just make sure to get the side of the hole very clean with brake cleaner or a similiar solvent. Then change your oil.

I would not use jb weld I think its to watery, Use a two part compound I dont know the name off hand but it looks like a big tootsi role it is gray on the outside and white on the inside. We use it all the time to fix striped bolt holes. Once mixed it cures hard in 20 min and is 3 times harder than steal in 3 hours. (it gets real hot due to the chemical reaction between the two compounds.) they also make one for aluminum!! You should be able to find it at a local pipe or steal supplyer!!!

I used jb weld to plug the oil drain on my 250r, works fine and no problems. The case cracked right at the thread.

A chain broke off my old 350x and put a hole in the side case. Patched up the bulk of the hole with quicksteel then used jb-weld and never had a problem.

Its works...just make sure surface is clean. No matter how long it may last it is still a patch fix.
