alright here is the story. I crashed my 250r at el mirage a while back and instead of going to a a whole new stock headlight and harness and what not, I decided to buy a couple lazer star lights. Now here is the problem I've ran into. It came with a switch and all, but I figured, why can't I just run it to the exisiting switch that I had for a the old light. Well the problem is, these lights take there power through the switch. this may seem like a stupid question, but how would I power those without going through the switch?

You should have 2 wires coming out of the back of each light. One is power and one is ground. There should be 3 wires coming out of the stock harness one ground and the other high and the other low. Just splice into either the high or low and connect the ground on each side. This is what I've done on a few Yamaha's, I'm sure it's the same on Honda!

I agree. I've also wired a couple of different bikes using the stock switch and they work fine. Use the high beam wire for the positive. Also, make sure your stator can support the watts your trying to use, and HID's don't run on AC power. So make sure they aren't HID's.

That is what I tried to do, but it didn't work, maybe I didn't have a good enough ground, since all I was doing was holding it against it because I was trying to test it out, I'll give it another whirl and see whats going on. thanks guys!

The 250R output is AC which prevents you from using a relay. You have to go through some sort of switch. Either the stock one or an add on. Did you purchase one of my wire kits? It will not work on a bike that doesn't have a battery. Its ok to use the stock switch. Infact you can modify the switch to have hi/lo beam.
Remove the switch; remove the metal clip inside and pop out the hi/lo switch. Using a soldering gun or iron remove the low beam wire coming out of the switch and re attach it to the middle or incoming wire. If you wire 1 light to the low wire and 1 to the hi you will get 1 when on lo beam and both on when on high beam... This only works on Honda's with seperate high/low-on/off switches.
