Was invited out to the USHRA Monster Jam for quad wars up here where I live. Feb 25,26 and 27th. I have a bone stock YFZ450 and have never done this before.
They set up an oval on the cement and lay down a layer of Coke all over the cement until it dries. Turns into a very grippy track.
Question is: With a bone stock quad whats the best way I can set my machine up for this type of racing. I'll only be doing it once. If anyone can point me in the right direction or offer a few tips that would be great.
Thanks thumb.gif

Well as having a few years experience in this field I can point you in the right way!
First if the track is nice and smooth no jumps or anything or big dips STRAP THAT BIKE DOWN with some tie straps that ratchet have somebody help you sit on the bike and get it as tight as possible and as low as possible ,, low vs suspension travel you will want low trust me! If you have time fabricate some lowering brackets to actually lower the suspension becuz low and suspension is the best!
use as flat as tire as possible to prevent tire roll, and run as low air pressure as possible but safe so tire does not come of bead, you will be pitching the bike out sideways and the tire will be spininng and you want traction! Only run as much gas as needed, less gas = less and lower center of gravity! I would run nerf bars if possible becuase if somebody elses tires gets into you when your laid over pitching the bike out, its gonna hurt real bad!! Most of all have fun!

a sway bar and some american racer TT tires....

my goal is to run a TT this season, looks like a good time
SHOCKER
A lowering kit(only for the TT track though not for mx/jumping) and some tires. If you get serious about it invest in a sway bar.

you huys are missing the point HE IS ONLY DOING IT ONCE!!!
I dont think he wants to go out and spend $150 on a sway bar
or hoisers tires for a one time gig, thats why i did not even mention that stuff
gonna confuse the poor BOY icon_smile.gif

As one that did it for 8 years on ice and dirt keep it simple for him as he wants to have fun but not be broke!!!! LOL

SHOCKER
he doesnt have to get hoosiers, use you stock tires then, a lowering kit would be great though, unless you do it yourself pretty much lowering the bike is the only thing you would need or want to do

Excellent tips guys thanks!!
RKRACING.....sounds like thats what i'm going to do. Definatly don't wanns spend a pile of cash for a one time event. Win or lose, this is going to be a blast!!
Hopefully Dennis Anderson will let me take Grave Digger for a RIP unsure.gif but I have a sneaky feeling of what he's going to say thefinger.gif laughing.gif
Thanks again

dude i ran on a cement track with coke syrup put down on it a few years back and trust me you dont stick to it. it was very slick...and a pain in the ass to clean off the next day. i would just suggest getting the bike as low as possible and obviously some suitable tires. good luck.

The cheapest way would be to use ratchet tie-downs to lower it and borrow some tires.
It would suck to try and race flat track on concrete with nobbies.
