I HAVE ONLY CAMPED AT bUTTERCUP ONCE ABOUT 14 YRS. AGO ON A RAINEY WEEKEND , I was the only one there That weekend. I have camped at gordons 3 or 4 times but that has been 5yrs. My qustion is if I get to buttercup on thur. night late will I be able to find a spot, or will it all ready be full and hard to find a spot. I just want to know what Iam in for. And where is a good place to camp. I really appreciate any help. Its just been a long time. and I just can't do Glamis on Pres. day weekend

Ok I will answer in this one as opposed to the other identical thread. You should be ok on Thursday for camp spots. Since you are saying you can't do Glamis I would guess cause of the crowds. You are going to want to camp out by Midway or Plank road, cause teh Cul De Sac can get pretty crazy.

I will agree with Lucky on this one, if you go straight at the pay station, instead of turning left to go to the cul-de-sac. Go straight for about 3-4 miles, the first camping spot will be Midway, which I think is simular to Gecko Rd at Glamis, only it is pretty short, but if you go another mile or so, over the ridge, at the bottom there is usually plenty of space, the dunes are a little further away, but it is also a shorter drive to the drags at Gordons. good luck and have a great time.
