My frind just bought an 87 Banchee that is in very good condition. I told him to run 40:1 fuel/oil ratio. He is worried because the oem sticker sais 20:1.
What are you guys all running?

on my brothers hr ran 40-1 i myself am a fan of 32-1(maxima castor or 927) have done so in all my bikes thru the years all lasted a long time.50-1 is needed to reach the bearings but 32-1 has proven to me to be the best in my case.
On my atc 250r it still has the 20-1 sticker on it too.

on our 2 stroke suzuki we use 20:1

40:1 will be fine Geno unless he is running a super high rpm motor. In that case, I'd go 32:1 and jet accordingly. Whatever he runs, have him do a throttle chop test after he warms it up on the first trip. If it was jetted for 32:1, it will run a little rich with 40:1.

I would find out what the previous owner ran and run that, it is probably jetted for that. You can run whatever ratio you want, as long as it is jetted for that ratio. I run 40:1 Castor 927 in Carrie's banshee and my bike.

I always used Castor 927 as my premix until I talked to a guy that works at Maxima...basically the only benefit to castor oil is that it smells good when you burn it. I've been using their K2 since my rebuild last summer with pretty good luck.

40-45:1 been running that for 14 yrs on my banshee never had a oil related failure i think im one over on piston size maybe two now just cause it gets loose

40:1 yamalube is what I used to run.

50:1 all day long in my shee but its punched out to a 550 cc!!!!!
