Okay folks, we've seen the pictures of the beautiful LT cars. How about some pictures of the cars the rest of us have?

As I bought it:

After I rebuilt it:

After I upgraded the frontend and seats:

After I blew up the 2.0 Pinto and temporarially ran an 1835 VW:

Once I realized the 2.0 was going to take a little longer than expected to rebuild and I cleaned up the 1835:

2.0 back from the rebuild - ready to start making it nice again:

2.0 back in almost ready for test run:

2.0 runs for 10 minutes then breaks a rocker arm.....

So I dune the Manx for a season instead (still a standard car so it fits!):

Even gets to wear the paddles and go on a GD night ride:

Frame had to sit in the backyard for a few months so it got a light coat of temporary primer. Any colors I had on hand so nothing matchs. But I did get a 2.3 FI motor and started making it fit:

Back together and runs better than ever! Now I just need to take it all back apart again so I can polish and paint one more time before selling (I'm on the left):

My father in laws buggy. We just converted to mid travel over the summer. We basically cut the whole front off and rebuilt for tie rod clearance and to look a little cleaner.

Yeah, it was a mission. GR fabrications helped a lot, but we fell short on the tie rod clearence. I too am going to have to raise the top rail of the frame in front of the windshield bar.

Missed it by less than 2 inches...dohhh

After our midtravel conversion.. icon_smile.gif

The shocks stopped the trailing arms from the top, We cut the bottom in to an "X" to avoid the bottoms hitting.. icon_smile.gif

Yup, mine's a work in progress. I'll get it right sooner or later.

I love the style of the old "Sand Toys" frames. Always have. I still have a reflector style business card of theirs.

I remember those cars, I used to camp with a guy who used to have a green one.

The guy who built them only built 8 or so and everyone I have ever talked to that owned one loved it.

And yes, I know the paddles are on backwards. I was very wet that weekend and I didn't to kill the trans on the first trip.

How about we get REAL old-school......

Our friend Mark is restoring his dad's old buggy...that's Mark in the photo with the grinder:

Check out the old single torsion front end:

Or how about that tricked out control panel and the "Buggy Reins"
user posted image

His original plan was to put this in it:
user posted image

But sanity prevailed (when he found out he'd need a new flywheel to pull that off) and he ended up with a single port 1600 instead.

The whole chassis is actually chromoly believe it or not. He's planning on adding a front hoop and some sides before he takes it out though. Even though he grew up driving it like it is and did have it upside down on more than one occasion!

Or there's Matt's first buggy:

The guy he sold it to put a BIG small block in it and then did this to the cage:
