Alright, im not a 2 stroke person, nor a banshee person. So when my buddy asked me what he shoulddo to the banshee he just bought i was at a loss for words. He said he has FMF fatty pipes, and some kind of shocks. im gonna go check it out tommorrow.

Any advice on any other mods?

How much money does your buddy have to spend? I'm sure that you have heard the old racing equation many times, money = speed. I would recommend staying away from the boost bottle crap. Get rid of the TORS setup, replace the OEM reeds, replace the air filter, shocks, etc.,etc.. You weren't very specific as to the modifications to your buddie's bike or the type of riding he does, so I just listed some of the basics. Good performance enhancing parts are available for every part on the Banshee. In theory you could start with the front of the bike and replace every major component with a performance upgrade; but that gets back to the basic question, "How much money do you have to spend?" thumb.gif

Yes there are a lot of little tricks that can be done to the she.......one of the best for the buck is the timing advance key that is inserted behind the flywheel.........you will feel the difference .....and gain a respected 4hp....the key is under 10 bucks.....you will need a flywheel puller though! The banshee DOES NOT work well with V-FORCE reeds...i repeat it DOES NOT WORK WELL.......and its proven on a dyno machine......Boyseen power reeds (carbon fiber) are by far the best! and will cost you 1/3 the amount! Also all the TORS can be removed........One last little trick.......if your going to keep the stock carbs......they can be bored out to 30mm..........if you are mechanical inclined they can be done yourself..........if you have any further questions let me know.......I have done everthing possible to my 2004 banshee.......and it is still very dunable........if you are going to port and mill the head......I strongly recomend only ONE PLACE to do it.........COOL HEADS are nice but the same amount of compression can be achieved by milling the head............hey and why you are at it have the head and cylinders pollished .......its cheap to do and it looks nice.....Have fun......email me with any other questions......

also one more thing.......the banshee comes with a lot of useless stuff........like the air box, tors, take all of that off! on the air box put two air filters on with outer wears........the boost bottle is junk! Toomy racing has done a test with the boost bottle.........and with the holes plugged.......believe it or not it runs cleaner with holes plugged.........and better throttle response............have fun! headbang.gif

lot of mis-leading information here ^ take it with a grain of salt...

I couldn't agree with dune demon more. Timing keys are a breakdown waiting to happen. You can buy a timing plate from ricky stator for 35 bucks now with no worries about shearing a key off in the dunes. V-force reeds were one of the best investments I made on my banshee. They by far are the most responsive and highest hp reeds on the market. I wouldn't go out and buy a boost bottle but I wouldn't take it off if I had it either. Yamaha didn't spend millions of dollars developing the 2 cylinder 2 stroke engine with it if they didnt think it did something for it. Opinions are like buttholes... everyone has one. So like dunedemon said take others suggestions with a grain of salt. thumb.gif
