I hope I am not 'tooting my own horn" with this post.

I have been writing some Articles for www.jeepaholics.com for the last few weeks. They are titled "An Offroader's Thoughts". I recently wrote an artile about what happened to me when I got a DUI in March of 2000.

http://www.jeepaholics.com/support/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=37492

Reading about the increase of accidents while Offroading here and on various other BBS's I figured it was time to put my experience with this subject out there for the Public to read. The one thing that is not included in the article is that the fine was $1500 plus Court Costs.

I am just learning to write so if it is "rough" please excuse that.

I know it's tough to share your mistakes, but I hope that those who do drink and drive take the two minutes to read your experiences. I agree that a person has to make their own decisions, and this is certainly good information about part of the consequences of making the wrong decision.

thanks for sharing.

Good story, thanks for the post!

Bansh why are you so against these types of posts? Guilty conscience or is that just your funny on-line personality?
Bansh88
Does anyone really NOT know about the dangers of drinking and driving? Does anybody NOT have a story of drinking and driving problems?
Smoking, Speeding, Cheating, Fighting, Unprotected Sex, Eating Cheeseburgers, Sinning... Everyone takes their chances with a lot of things. Why all of a sudden have people started discussing Drinking and riding? Nothing new.

Funny? What, am I a clown to you? Do I amuse you? How the f**k am I fuuny?!
Mike330R
Mainly because accidents while drunk hurt OTHER people where as unprotected sex can hurt YOURSELF. Not an innocent bystander.

And yes, you are funny and you have amused me on many occasions icon_smile.gif
Clown? Sometimes icon_smile.gif

Best way to prevent it is to talk about it and apply peer pressure.

These threads do make people think.

Mike an person with any sexually transmitted diseae CAN hurt someone while having unprotected sex. They trasmit the disease to the person they are having unprotected sex with. In a lot of cases that is terminal. Not as quick as having an accident while drinking, but you can kill a person just the same.

I believe there was a guy with AIDS who was convicted of attempted manslaughter because he had unprotected sex with a number of women.....

I was told when I originally posted this that I would get two types of opinions!

I am starting to see that now.
