I'll tell you what, Stacy started a thread meant to be a cool idea and everyone is diggin on it. Now people wanna start a buncha Shiot over NOTHIN!!! BamBam, I'll tell you what, you are a better man than I. I do not allow anyone to say ANYTHING about my kids or there is a big problem especially with the kind of freaks you find on the net. Why is everyone so uptight? Why is everyone trippin? This is the INTERNET!!! This is NOT REAL LIFE!!!! The whole search for Slappy is a story, FICTIONAL at that, let it BE!! Is this what happens in the off season when its too hot to ride? I was plannin on makin some gatherings but...........good Lord, if it gets like this out in the dunes, I'll just go out with my normal crew........

Tate, Like slap said consider the source. Rat-boy and a few others that like to stir s*** up around here don't come to the gatherings. They just stand on the side lines an through stones at the board. I don't know where this animostity comes from but it's to bad that it gets on a personal level. But I am glad that it stays out of the Dunes. At least for the most part I don't see it there...

Tate, thanks man. You should REALLY come to the gatherings. There isn't any backstabbing going on or anything. I was just standing up for Michelle (gotdunes). As for what Ratboy said about my kid, I knew he was just mad and it wasn't really directed to my kid, it was directed to me, but I don't let stuff like that bother me. Trust me, the gathering are fun and there are a lot of great people that go!
Tate the gatherings are cool... aside from the usual mischief.. Liqour and fireworks and spud guns... LOL speakin of which... we need to camp somewhere where i wont get busted for playin with that thing.. HEHEHE

Anyway, I haven't had a problem with anyone on this board. Most people get along just fine and there isn't any backstabbing going on, at least I don't hear it. Come and find out for yourself.
I for one try not to take sides. My main concern is for the board and only for the board. As moderator I let a lot of things slide but when people start to make the board look bad that's when I speak. And I for one have not put a knife in anyone's back...

You used this board for one reason. To advertise deepsand. You should come over to deepsand, it's a "real" glamis site. Check out deepsand, we have "real" people over here, not like this board. Once or twice a year, someone decides to "test" us. True, it's been Ratboy the last couple of times. And while things are not perfect, things went fairly well.

In all of that time Ratboy has come to camp once. He rode by in his buggy one time.
If he WERE to come by he'd be more than welcome, but he doesn't. He would rather speak negativly about us. He has done the same thing at GlamisOnline.org and I'm not sure but I think he has been banned from there, or at least banned at one time.
Ratboy, speak your mind. Take advantage of our generousity. But you will not cause us to change how we moderate here at GD.com. EVERYONE will always be free to speak their mind, even if it is as twisted as yours.
BTW: as for the moderators ganging up, as I said, Ratboy has only one purpose, to hurt this board. The moderators are there to protect this board. If you attack this board expect the moderators to respond.

While it is true, people sometimes are quite harsh here, you must understand that it's their perogitive to be harsh. Just like it is your perogitive to speak your mind concerning this board.

This statement is absolutely true, there are also some very good folks around here. And, there are many people who fit one group one day and the other group on another. That's the nature of the board and the internet in general. ALL people are welcome here, even the unpopular ones.
My personal opinion concerning http://Deepsand.net is that it is a way cool site that I've linked to many times. There is a link to http://Deepsand.net in the links section (I think), and there is a link to http://deepsand.net on my own webpage, including graphic!
As for Michelle with her chat, sure, one person said something, but, as Michelle knows, Slappy makes very frequent visits to her thursday nite chats and I know looks forward to them when he can make it! I would go myself if I had the ability to chat.
I hope that clears up any misunderstandings...

Everytime someone comes on here and post's a link to another web site...everyone gets all defensive....Im not sure why, there are quite a few..very good web sites out there besides this one...Deepsand being one of them. I have made some very good friends from that web site and I know 99% of you have been to that site and enjoy it...You have given Michelle crap for putting links up about her new board and her chat site....

I haven't met either one of you. I barely go over to deepsand.net, I only started to go over there when Mikey took over. But you guys seem to jump all over my **** and bash me. You guys don't know me or my family, but you judge me.
As far as anyone on this site that has EVER giving me CRAP about putting up a link to my site or to my chat or even my board, WAS ONLY ONE PERSON (Which will remain nameless). Everyone else on this board has welcomed me any 99% of what I put up on this board or on my stuff. I only post about having chat nights with a link so other people can come in and win Slappy packages when Slappy does his riddles in there.
Everything else is placed in my sig. where it should be.
I have never said anything BAD about deepsand.net, I think its was/still is a cool site. I was really, as well as many others surprised to see Markie give it up. I even have a link on my links page, that is currently down.

Maybe you should give another gathering a try. That doesn't mean that you have to camp with us, but come by. There are alot of us that have kids, I have two myself and kids are more than welcome at our gatherings.

As far as what Mr. gotdunes said about your wife, well he way just coping what you guys said yesterday. I have not seen her so I cannot judge, but as for the FATA$$, UGLY, 200LBS Striper comments that were made about me, well you or your wife could not be further from the truth. To address your comment to me, yes, it is true, personal comments/attacks happen on a daily basis here, sometimes. It is a fine line between moderating and censoring and I don't pretend to be perfect. Neither are the other moderators and I know each of them will back me on that. All I can hope to do is try to steer some of the more inflamitory threads towards more constructive/enjoable topics and occasionally edit a curse word or two. If someone e-mails a specific concern then that concern is dealt with immediatly. Example: Bluesky is harrassed, cursed, attacked and otherwise made to feel very unwelcome all the time by most everyone on this board. Whether he deserves the critisism or not the personal attacks are out of line. BUT, Bluesky has not one time complained either in e-mail or in a post. It is my belief that Bluesky realizes that his beliefs elicit this kind of response from this crowd and he pretty much expects it. If, though, he were to comment that someone was getting personal I would not hesitate to step in.
As for moderators not being "moderated" themselves I really don't know what you mean. Dunetroll edited MANY words yesterday, several of which belonged to moderators. And, although there were MANY personal attacks yesterday BY MANY PEOPLE, there was only one, that I can think of, that was actually edited. I might be wrong, there may have been one or two more but the point is that the moderating on this board occurs mostly by WORDS, not by editing. If there is a personal attack it will generally not be edited, it will be commented on, like... "Ok, lets cool down."
The dunetroll ONLY EDITS WORDS. And it is done as fairly as possible to everyone, moderator, administrator or high octane member or new user.
On top of that, though, each forum has it's own moderator who can and will edit/delete/modify posts in his or her own forum. This is at the descresion of each moderator. There are guidlines but that's it. If you don't like how BamBam moderates his forum then post in Connections. If you don't like how Michelle moderates her forum then post in Slappy's neighborhood. This gives each forum it's own flavor!
Posts, as a general rule, don't get moved from the forum they were posted in. The forum names are guidelines to encourge certain topics but they are by no means "required". The one exception to this would be some Buy/Sell stuff that will get moved to that forum.
In other words, you users are pretty much left to yourselves on this board! That's how most people like it, that's how I like it and that's how it got built into the great forum that it is, by Kurt.
Now, lets get dunin!!!

I definitely do speak my mind (although at times a little harsh) and I don't expect anyone to back me whatsoever, I don't go through life relying on what other people will or won't do for me ,I am my own person(yes anal at times) but nonetheless many people respect me for standing up for myself.

Kevis is a part of both boards so what your sayin was directed at him as well as Michelle's board. If somebody has an issue with somebody take it offline, we dont need the soap opera, and like Mark said in the heat of the moment things are going to be said that are hurtfull, to some they just shrug it off, others take it personal, which should never happen on the internet.

If somebody has an issue with somebody take it offline, we dont need the soap opera, and like Mark said in the heat of the moment things are going to be said that are hurtfull, to some they just shrug it off, others take it personal, which should never happen on the internet.

No I haven't. I'm also a member of several other boards on bikes and riding in general and use the screen name Fireballsocal on every one of them. I have no need to hide behind another name when I say something that might be controversial. I think that my comments have been justified.
