My 2003 pred since i've owned it the radiator fan comes on quite frequent.
I was told that that was normal.
Someone else had told me to remove the thermostadt from the cooling system and it would make the quad run cooler. It makes sense but I was wondering if anyone else done this to their Pred 500s?

The fan running on the Predator is totally normal, mine does it all the time. I've talked to the Polaris shop and my personal mechanic about it. ~No issue.
I added radiator shrouds and that made minimal, if any, difference at all... but at least the shroud protects the coolant bottle from rocks

If you have the stalling at idle problem, just adjust the throttle cable. Follow it down from the handle bars until you come to the in-line adjuster. Give it a couple turns and Viola~ smooth idle

i installed those inline aluminum coolers on both lines on my pred, i would say they helped a little bit, fan doesnt seem to come on as much, but also if your riding fast enough and getting airflow thru the radiator the fan isnt going to come on till you stop moveing.

i dunno if i would take out the thermostat, it might make it run to cold. the fan on my 50th comes on all the time and runs for a little while after shutting the engine down. doesnt bother me tho, long as its workin, its all good

man, everything I've got for my preddy is through Ebay... it cuts out the dealer and it usually ends up cheaper even with shipping! just check the comments left for the seller to be sure they're not a sh** bag

I've had my thermostat out since the beginning and I'v e never noticed ant diufferencve..... a while back Gary from Evansville superbike shop suggested a Termostat mod...I did it and I honestly couldnt tell what it did..... so from what I know as of now it hasnt hurt anything...running without it that is.. so I dont see a reason to have one......in my quad that is...
Right now Im running the PRP long travel a-arms and +4 swing arm w/ a lonestar axcalibur axle and Rath Racing MX hubs...the quad sits nice and wide

... I have the triple-rate fronts revalved w/ reservoirs and PEP rear shock and it rides awesome... Dont have any complaints yet...with the exception of my rear shock not being completely dialed in yet...so the rear bucks me in the ass...... ya get what ya pay for:)

Where did you buy your radiator shrouds and in-line aluminum coolers? Is that a Ebay purchase? I have wanted to get some for awhile.

You can get rad shrouds from Rath Racing, PRM, ebay, or pretty much all the companies that make em... In line coolers can be purchases from Ebay or CFM or the other ocmpanies tha tmake those as well....most people have gotten the ones off ebay for like 13 bucks or something...
