how did every body like the plaque that sand mullet made for himself? class act buddy,take you beating like a man.I guess some people can't take lousing.dude cut you mullet and get over it,grant had half a track on you before he spun out. If you wanted your own plaque you should have made one for the best mullet,not fastest lap. ROCK THE MULLET

Not defending the mullet, but... I think it's funny when I see people with so much metal (piercings) sticking through their bodies that they look like they lost a battle with a land mine, and that is considered cool, yet a mullet is not.

The jumps were never cut down during the event to my knowledge. I know that joe was disappointed in the size of the jumps from the start.
After running for 2 days on saturday morning he changed the mogul section and i will be the first to say i spoke up and called it for the BS it was. After I spoke up I think most people agreed.
On wed. or thursday we went and looked at the track. The main Jump was like a bad supercross double. 15 ft straight up with a 30 ft gap to a different angled landing. We suggested that he take away the gap as well as the landing ramp and build it as high as he wanted but to make it so some of the slower cars or less experienced guys could still be competitive. In other words no matter how fast or good your suspension was you could still fly the jump.
Our overall input to Dewey was based on years of Mickey Thompson racing.
In the beginning his tracks had huge jumps and giant holes. The result of which was the competition was separated to quickly but more importantly by the end of the night he would not end up with a full feild or a good parity of competition for the main event.
We simply suggested he build a race course and let the racing be the entertainment as opposed to a Obstacle course.
Anyone that was there saw plenty of good competetive racing.
I thought it was funny that they claimed to be "The Ulitimate Sand Car" when the funco actually won. Don't get me wrong, I'm neither a sandlimo nor funco guy, but just thought it was funny.

I don't know the politics of the race, but I would agree with you on this one Grant. I would rather run on a course where fast smooth driving was what it took to win the race. I'm not suggesting not having the jumps and whoops and stuff. I just would rather see technical as opposed to a bunch of fouled up jumps that tear all the cars up. They're still sand cars, not Monster Trucks.
Spoke to Dewey a week ago and he said the course will be much more aggressive this year...

Just a random thought... why not bring in actual sand to make the track out of instead of dirt? Then require each car to have paddle tires on the rear. Now we are getting closer to a sand car challenge and not a mini-Mickey Thompson race.
Its kinda like pee-wee soccer, everybody is a winner! You get a trophy no matter where you place. So Joe Dirt got fastest time. Boy George got best overall. Didnt Buckwheat racing roll an X-5?
I'm new to this posting thing but I can't for the life of me understand why some people choose to rip a builder in a public forum. A builder that does not come here and flame anybody! And what's even more juvenile is the fact that the so-called "professional" builders, supposedly "professional people" come on this open forum and do the same thing. It makes me sick. These people know who they are and I will not lower myself to their standard by naming names. If someone has a problem with a builder, or if a builder has a problem with a builder, take it up with them. If you were screwed by a builder, by all means, get your pound of flesh and rip them all you wish. I myself would like to know this kind of stuff so I can be informed about said company so I can make an informed opinion about dealing with them down the line. But if you are just pissing and moaning just to make you or company look better in the eyes of "potential" customers, then you are a sad case indeed. Let your work and your product speak for itself. Don't bring somebody else down so you can rise above them.

The add sparked the fire. Sand mullet wanted to stir the pot ...and out came the wolves Joe can take it I'm sure, really isnt that big of a deal.
I like Sandlimo, they were cool to me when we were looking at different manufacturers. I wouldnt hesitate to start poking fun though
