OK, Slap knows there is a thread in the Neighborhood here with all kinds of slapptacious shots of Mr. RedTail...Now, we gonna start this thread as the official thread for posting yer pics. The winner of this contest will have their picture displayed at the SSSS, and will receive a GlamisDunes.com Jacket with their name and Mr. Red Photo Contest Winner embroidered on it. Oh yes, it is on. So bring yer pics in here so we can keep it in one thread. Judging will end sometime around August or so, so good luck.

I went in search of Mr. Redtail this weekend and no luck. He taunted me at camp for a few minutes then took off. I looked all over for him. I sure would like that jacket. I'll take a small black with Pink embroidery please

Alluding to Vickie has a new puppie and you can use it to lure Mr. Red Tail closer to your hiding spot. Bad taste joke sure, but gave me a chuckle....

I saw Mr Red this past weekend on a ride. He was no more than 30 yards from us!
He was swooping around the dunes very low to the ground. Of course the camera was back in the trailer

sorry i should have put captions, that white this is an egg shell from her nest, she was quite pissed off at us for getting stuck next to her nest, she was squaking up a storm guy, when I went the got the pic right under the tree you could totally see her watching me....
also seen an albino lizard but by the time we got the camera the guy was back under the sand......

we thought it was Mrs Red protecting her nest, the dad was flying way up higher, we kinda freaked when she landed in that tree cuz we were all under it for shade and the kids are the ones who found the egg shell.

I almost caught a baby redtail in my front yard the other day...funny looking little creatures when they are small...would have had him if I didnt have to go to work....
Dat's what Slap thought Admiral, but wasn't for sure. Thanks for dat. Oh yeah, she'll let ya know when she don't want you around.

We went back to the nest on Monday with Brad & Amy. You could see the little chicks eye's peering out over the top of the nest.

Peeps...I don't want to spoil the fun, but if we keep harassing MR and MRS. REDTAIL...they will leave the nest, and possibly leave the young. Worse, they may not come back at all.
They were content to having us drive by, but stopping and staring at them when we are only 15 feet or less away is going to disrupt their lives, and cause havoc on thier systems. They are squawking at you to leave them alone, so please do so.
Otherwise, you will be driving away another beautiful part of the desert.
Stay at least 50 feet away, use binoculars, keep the kids and animals with you, and don't bug them at nite.
Otherwise, your actions make Danny-boy right.
