anyone know anything about that "rocket fuel", gasoline octane booster? supposed to boost 5 gallons around 6 points or somethin like that.

Cheaper in the long run to run race gas if your engine needs higher octane. Most octane boosters don't raise the actual octane a whole number, much less the 5 or 6 they claimed. One of the bigger magazines did a comparison 6 months or so ago and only two raised the octane up more than a point. Less than two though.

thats pretty lame. i used to run 50/50 but now im all 91. but i may try VP again and see if my motor takes advantage of it. thanks fireball. saved me a whole 1.99

I think 6 points on 91 octane would be 91.6. Might as well buy race gas.

octane boosters leave gunk in your tank and carb. It's the equivillent of letting Methanol or any other oxy fuel sit . It will creat a sludge and it can cause problems. And at least you get gains off meth or oxy fuels.
