Just got back from a great trip to glamis today!!
Monday Out in the dune's between Olds and way out towards brawley slide There was so many foot prints that just went for miles that it kinda freaked me out a little.
There were many tracks and they were spaced out about 20" or so and there had to be a large group because they were everywhere.
Im talking walking in a straight line up and over the steepest dune's. Didn't seem to care if there was an easier route to take or not just straight through the dunes?
Really wierd do to the fact that the night before the wind had blow all night and the tracks were fresh.
All I could think of is maybe a military march or something?
Any Idea's??

they were headed out from olds towards brawley slide out in that direction which makes it even wierder

Thats what I thought also but a closer look showed they were headed in the wrong direction to be those type of people.
Very strange!!!!!!!!!!

Is there a gap between the people that frequent this board and the people that actually go to the dunes AND DUNE !!! & (read, educate themselves on the situation )
Or is there just a big gap ? ie: gapping hole, crevas , fault (as in san andreas), Wheres a comet when you need one !!!

Why bother??? Because each
INFORMed person that goes to the dunes makes it better for ALL of us...

The thing with Glamis is, between the various filming, illegal crossings, species monitoring, tourists, and "sponsored" dune hikes, one set of footprints can easily be confused with any other. Was this the species monitoring group? Probably... but it could have just as easily been any other group on foot.
It was a good question SandSpaz... don't let the condescending attitude put you off.

We had a bunch of kids out last weekend tearing it up on the sandboard. There were doing a bunch of climbing up some big dunes.

No these prints went in a straight line. They didn't venture toward plants as if counting weed's. They didnt seem to group up at any certain area.
They just walked straight through, up and over anything in the path at about 20" apart. Like you would see when people sweep an area looking for crime evidence or missing person's.

We were on Gecko, the only reason why I ask is one of "the boys" had trouble keeping his behind in his pants to passing traffic. Not to get anyone in trouble. Funny stuff. I'm used to, and strongly support full moons, but mostly at the river.

By the way, the kid had (I think) blue and white riding pants or blue and (?), maybe "no fear" stlye? It was by a MH with a box trailer. and yes right across from the trash cans.

I'll run right out and join the ASA.

Forgive me.

Maybe some more of you should run out and join the ASA
Sorry about the " condensending attitude " , I just get a little ( alot ) frustrated sometimes about this whole dune mess and the lack of knowledge that seems to be so widespread in the duning community.
MY BAD.

I can relate...
The
GOOD NEWS... is more ARE getting
"IT" everyday...
I will be handing out more info this weekend at G, like most weekends I'm out there.
Educating one at a time...
Nobody has to join the ASA in my view, but I sure hope they join
SOME group or organization out there working to protect
future closures from happening,,,at
YOUR favorite riding places...
And I posted the link above from
this site that Sailaway posted. Didn't mean that is where the foot traffic was from, just my guess...
