Got my mind made up which sand tires I want, just not sure which wheel I want. Is their a big weight difference? I like the C series for ITP and probably the .125 or .160 for Douglas.
It will be strictly for duning, will be putting them on a 450R and I'm going with Sand Stars.
Curious what tire/wheel setup others have for the dunes? I'm sure there's a thread out somewhere about it but haven't seen one comparing the ITP vs Douglas.
Thanks

ITP C series wheel are really heavy. I would stick to the Douglas.

I have SandStars with ITP wheels, front and rear,I forget which model they are, but the have the clover leaf center...I think the are the .190 but do not quote me on that. I have had not problems with them at all
ive had two sets of ITP's and they never seated right around the bead even after professional mounting and cleaning the bead and doing it myself. i sold one set to a friend for cheap and gave the second set to an uncle. i just wanted them gone. i know plenty of people that have success with em, but not me.
i run douglas blues now but i dont really jump so i guess im easy on em. no leaks, and super light.

Regular Itp's are junk. They bend easily and are way heavy. The c-series are really nice though. I run those. I don't care about winning races up hills. If you just want a nice all around rim, I'd go with the douglas red labels.

I've always ran Douglas black lables (.160). I've never had a problem yet. My buddy just bought some ITP T9's (.190). He loves them. The only thing I would suggest is not to go with the .125's. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think they are strong enough if you ride hard. I like the added security.

BEADLOCK for sand and dirt, i always screw up regular rims even in the sand, my friend has beadlocks on all of his wheel sets and never has problems, i just cant afford them right now.

Well I went with the Douglas .125's with Sand Stars all the way around.
The ITP felt really heavy to me, they will be strictly for sand I don't really launch off of huge jumps. Can't wait to try them out.
