Not a Glamis Issue But.....
Has anyone out there ever had bites or a rash that spreads or gets worse up to a week after being bit. We had a group of 3 families out at Dumont 3/30 - 4/3. We were camped way into the dunes all the rigs were parked on soft sand. The kids were all playing in the sand the entire time. Most of us kids and adults were bit by something but the weird thing is now a week later the bites or rash is getting worse. In some cases spreading to the hands and neck. Any info on this topic would be a huge help.
Thanks in Advance.
I know, I know spare the jokes it was our first trip to Dumont.

bro, I don't know what to tell you. I could come up with some funny jokes but I'll refrain. Good luck and keep us posted.

Has anyone in your group reported being bitten by, or seen ticks?

No ticks. They had LOTS of little knats out there. But the ranger did say they have mites that live in the sand but he wasn't sure if they bite or what happens if they do. The weird part is that some of the group is getting worse. 5 of the adults myself included have no bites or any sign of a rash and the other 3 have it. It's strange that we all don't have it because we were camped in a tight group for 4 days. The 5 kids all have it to some degree and they were rolling in sand and digging and you know kid stuff.

No ticks and probably no fever or flu-like symptoms, right? That's good
At Osborne over Easter we had some people getting bit like you describe, but I don't believe it's moved into a rash or any kind... I'll ask.
I'd contact your doctor to be on the safe side, and look up info on biting midges (aka gnats).

No fevers or flu like symptoms, After looking at the kids this morning they are bites not a rash. It's hard to tell if they are getting better or not because the kids keep scratching. Thank you very much for the info.

Just got back from Glamis and I have bites all over my legs. They itch like mosquito bites. I can leave them alone

I have some gnarly welts on my legs after this weekend in Glamis. They are definitely bug bites but not mosquito bites. They itch really bad and look more like welts than actual bites. I have one on each leg and they are driving me crazy

A few people in our group went to the Dr. today and they were prescribed an antihistimine like a strong benedryl. The doc said to try to avoid scratching because the bites have saliva from the insect in them and scratching will make it spread.
