As the morning sky approached, there was one thing on the minds of those chosen to compete in the 3rd and final EPO Verbena Dash; will the heat come into play? The day before showed numbers into the 90’s, for what could be a hot, scorching day for the Slappy Racing team. Mother Glamis was thinking about the group elite, and in her passion provided overcast skies and a cool breeze; it was a day to remember.

The smack talk had stopped. It was now race day. Conversations turned to thoughts of personal expectations. Some people found themselves saying, “If I finish top 10, I’ll be happy”. Or, “I can’t believe how pumped I got after only two laps of practice”. There was strategy being played out, “Are you leaping off the big drop?” whispered one rider to another. If you were, you’re chances of a single digit placing were high. Some members didn’t say anything; instead they looked within themselves, quietly hoping that everyone felt the same anxiety inside. On race day, everything is a little different. Truth be told, everybody felt it, and everybody wanted it. The hourglass ran out, the day had finally come; SLAPPY RACINGS EllCYPOCROFF “VERBENA DASH” was about to begin. Flaggers, take your positions.

Each rider attacked the track with focus and determination, eager to show that their best was being given. Fellow riders lined the course, screaming words of encouragement, “GO FOR IT, YOU CAN DO IT.” The group camaraderie was strong, each and every competitor pulling and cheering for you. You weren’t just racing the clock, you were challenging yourself. And when that checkered flag waved, everybody knew that you had given your all. On this day, everybody was a champion, everybody gave 100%, and everyone was proud of their fellow GD.comer.

Sand Chucker gave us a no footer and dazzled the crowed. He nabbed #24. Time: 2:48:72


The Admiral was the man. No practice run, stealing #23 with the coolest helmet on the planet. Time: 2:45:29


No negative rep points on this day, it was all positive for Bansh88 taking #22.

rivermobster ran strong, grabbing # 21. A missed cone will send you back a few spots.

Top lady of the day, Montana Girl swooped on some boys and grabbed #20.

The Pastor dug deep, and found a little more body and soul. #17

First out of the gate, and now a certified veteran of the EPO, FNG nabbed #16.

WildBill tasted some sand on this weekend, and even missed a cone. His help this day was priceless. He proudly earned #15.

Sleep can do wonders as Chumster knows. A hit bush sent him back a few spots into double digit territory. He grabbed #11. Time: 2:32:28


There were two strokes, but not many. MWBanshee nailed a cone and #10 for his first EPO. Time: 2:32:03


A solid #9 and single digit stature, tresombre was pegged. Time: 2:31:95
