OK Hunter, all kidding aside, you asked for opinions on this video, I'll share my two cents. And FYI, I think Joe is a great guy and builds great buggies. This is about the video clip, not Joe or Sand Limo (I own a Sand Limo).
Overall it's pretty good. Certainly better than I could do.

Things I would improve or change before going to TV with it.
1) Some of the editing. For example it says that Joe is a perfectionist and does all the final welding himself. Right as it says that the video shows what appears to be Joe grinding a weld down with a grinder. Not good editing. Makes Joe look like a rookie that had to grind down a bad weld.
2) The announcer guy is boring. I showed this video to 5 other people. All agreed.
3) Subtitles??? They're not speaking French. No need for subtitles if you had the audio loud enough to actually hear the talking. I've never seen subtitles on American Chopper.
4) Why isn't the actual build car shown in the dunes? The car Joe is driving isn't even the same color as the one in the build.
Good effort. Needs work.
And no, you can't afford my consulting fees.

Thanks for the input! honestly we really appreciate it and this post isn't to make excuses, it's just to show you we've already thought of everything you pointed out - we honestly do know what we're doing.
remember a few things here...
First of all this PROMO copy was never, EVER meant to be seen by the general public - remember that - this piece was only shown as a promo piece to some of our main sponsors so they could get a feel for our editing style - we wanted them to be able to have the freedom to give constructive criticism before we invested large amounts of time in the final product.
Now for the voice over guy - yes, we agree with your statement. He was not a professional, he was actually a member of our crew who never did voice over before - we needed something quick, and you heard what we got. We have auditioned 60 announcers for this particular role and have narrowed it down to ten.
Furthermore, as for the subtitles - like I stated earlier, we have HOURS AND HOURS of good audio to use, but we didn't see it necessary to spend the time to synch up the good audio with the video for a PROMO reel that noone in the general public was ever supposed to see. Subtitles are there so our sponsors could understand what was being said - without a doubt.
As for your valid statement about the welding and Joe - this weld was placed for a wink mirror bracket by one of his employees. While myself and Joe were out of the shop on another shoot with a sponsor, the employee placed the brackets, ignorant of the fact that the wink mirror was actually being supplied by gear one with billet mounting brackets. This all would've been explained in a complete episode - however, if you listen to the voice over in the piece you saw, it says Joe is a perfectionist and must "oversee" all final welds - obviously this weld was a mistake that he caught, and Joe fixed it himself (not to dog the guy that made the initial weld - I'm sure everyone in this industry has made at least one mistake in their career)

Finally, as for the actual build car not being used in the action footage - we've shot the build car numerous times since its original outing in the dunes - we didn't want to show all our cards just yet - we told our sponsors that they would not be seeing the build car for the action footage until the actual show's air date - speaking of which....
1. the show is fantastic - watch it for yourself when it airs (we'll still welcome feedback)
2. we're professionals here doing a show about an amazing lifestyle - we respect it and understand that the duning lifestyle needs to be represented properly, positively, and for how bitchin' it really is. And this show will do all that........and more.
Sincerely,
Hunter

If it was never, EVER meant to be seen by the general public, then why did YOU post it on the Race-Dezert.com board? I guess your excuse will be that it was posted here first? I highly doubt that.
I love the fact that you pointed out that "we honestly do know what we are doing." If that is the case then why would you show such a "rough" video to your "main sponsors?" You've had months upon months to edit this thing. I don't buy it.
And finally... I will watch it for sure WHEN it airs. What is the date again? I couldn't find it on your web site.
