I don't know what happend to this post but My question is:

Albins tranny

Can you speed shift this tranny? Will it hurt it if you do? And does anyone have a link or a phone number for someone that works/builds this tranny? I heard many different opinions on the care of this tranny… I'd like to go to the source if possible.

Do you mean these guys?

Albins

Looks like they have a link to a place in Colorado that deals with them.

Thanks… I called that number and talked to a very helpful and informative guy. He said don't speed shift the Albins tranny. He said to give it time for the "synchronizers to mesh" before you shift. He said the only problems they have had with the tranny's in dune cars is people crunch shifting third gear, trying to keep the wheels in the air>(wheelies). He said over time, it will wear/brake the synchro, causing you to have to pull the tranny for repair… Other than that, they have had very few problems and a seasonal tear down in not necessary.
