A few years ago we went to the far south edge of Buttercup down to like a Quarry and farm land in Mexico and they were having Sand Drags with a Light tree... Problem is for some reason we can't remember what weekend/day it was. We have gone down there on several times since and have only found the remains of what appered to have been one hell of a party! Does anyone have any more info as to when this takes place??? [Bandit]

Not sure if it's the same drags or not but a bunch of the local shops here in Yuma put up signs fairly frequently about organized drags down in Mexico.

Bingham parts over on Gila Ridge has quite a few photos of their vehicles and customers vehicles along with quite a few award plaques from down there.

Just remember if you cross into Mexico in the dunes you risk loosing your ride and jail time - espically after Sept. 11th they're a lot less understanding. If you cross into Mexico you have to come back through an authorized point of entry or you risk confiscation of EVERYTHING.

Jerry Seaver (President of the ASA) can tell you some stories about what it takes to get your vehicles back out of impound if you get caught and it's NOT easy or cheap. His group used to always head down to Mexico until one day they learned the hard way what that isn't looked to kindly upon by the border patroll.

They've got sensors, cameras, towers, and that stationary blimp out by Castle Rock - even though you can't see that bimp most days it can see you! The cameras and imagers on that thing are incredible. Plus the number of BP in the area has dramatically increased since last september.

That blimp is on the Yuma Proving Ground...and believe me they can see a sweat bump on a nats ass with that that thing....
