We have a 12 gallon tank and have made it from wash 13, across to Gecko via olds, down sand highway to Pair a dice, to the drags at Gordons, back up sand highway to China Wall and back to wash 13 on one tank. When we got back to camp I was pretty low. I would guess about 1 gallon left. This is with a turbo Subie and on sand hwy we averaged about 45-50mph.

I have gone from Gordon's to Gecko, then to the store, the washes, and duned to Olds and played around and barely back to Gordon's. Did not run out, but was low.
5 seat long travel V8 car.
I think I have a 16 gal. tank

Im thinking just a nice fun ride with wife and kids , not hauling ass but just cutting the dunes down and back.

Then the answer is yes...w/ plenty of gas left. I have gone from cement flats to Pair-a-dice...across the highway...into Mexico about 5 miles...turned around....came back via sand highway...to Patton valley...played for about 10 min in the soft stuff and then back to the Glamis drags....goofed around a little and then back to camp....still had about 5 gallons left.
Oh yeah...5 seater Northstar power!

I would think you'd have close to 1/3 - 1/2 a tank left.
FI is very efficient. I've made that trip with 4 adult males in a V8 car with a (I think) 12-13 gal tank and had quite a bit left when I returned.
As a matter of fact, I'm getting my 13 gal spun aluminum tank removed and replaced with an RCI 15 gal fuel cell from Summit. Just a suggestion, but a fuel cell is a bit safer and not that expensive.

I preran the last race we ran and did 35 miles on 4 gallons with a 3.3 Suby in my 5 seat lt. It wasn't the dunes but it gives you something else to compare to

I ran from Gecko in my 3.2 turbo, hammer down(70-80mph)used 8 gals. If I would have cruzed I may have save 2-3 gals. That was to Buttercup and back to the loop.
