Im getting all of my alum carpeted and I was thinking of doing the same with my floorpan. I thought it might be nice to have some carpet there instead of line-x? I have a vacumn in my trailer so the sand issue wouldnt be that big of a deal. Does the Line X start to peel after a while or does it last? Thanks for any help

no experience with line x on aluminum, but it should last fine as long as the metal is prepped correctly. been awhile but i think we used to acid wash it and use zinc chromate primer, not sure if that's still the case. the powdercoaters here would definatly know. e

Carpet seems like it might soak up a lot of sand during the ride. Hang on guys I'll go for a ride but I need to vacuum my carpet first.

The LineX will be a bit heavier then carpet if that matters to you.

I would definately go with line-x. If something gets spilled on your floor like beer, oil, power steering fluid, etc. you can hose out the floor when you get home. I really think the carpet would be high maintenance and would either wear down or start coming up. Floor boards in buggys take ALOT of abuse. I have line-x in my car and love it. I even got the pan for the manx line-x'd too. That was the best decision ever.

Can you apply line-x yourself or is there another product that you can do yourself

I did line-x on the floor of my car,and I really like it.It helps keep your feet from sliding around too.The line-x guy didnot want to apply it to the bare aluminum,so I had them powder coated first.

I forget who but there is a spray liner in the can type deal out, it might be dupli color. They also come in colors to. I think that getting it done professionally would last better then the stuff you could buy in a can.

There is a do-it yourself liner thats called Durabak, I used it on my Ford Ranger inside the cab and it came out great, but it was also painted inside and steel, prep is the key to a good job. Lots of elbow grease to prep. The website is www.nonslipcoating.com.

I have "Tuff Skin" on my floor plans and it has been great. All they did was sand the aluminum and then spray it on. It has held up great.

there is one called herculiner, that you can brush on. do a search. don't know how it holds up. btw i sprayed the inside of my wheel wells with blue magic or coral undercoating in a can, looks alot like spray on bedliner when it dries.
