I found a Type 4 VW Engine for sale for like $200, and I was wondering if it is worth buying and using in my buggy, since I have a Type 1 1641cc. Can you buy new Type 4 cases? I know it is a much more durable engine, I think I can get it for a little cheaper so give me any feedback because I might make this my new long term project. Thanks

Type 4 motors cost alot more to rebuild than a type 1.

I'm going to have a boat load of type 4 parts to dump off in the next couple of weeks, a few cases, odds and ends and a compelte type4 with dual weber carbs on it. I'm going to be looking for about 500 for the whole pile. The carbs alone are probably worth more than that.
