I’m looking for a standard Pep Boys or whatever car cover that will fit over my rail. The entire thing. I’m going to Pismo next week and I want to cover it at night to keep the salt off of it. If someone has a part # and where they bought it that would be great.
GLAMISCOYOTE
I bought mine from pep boys and got the one that fits the Tahoe, Epedition type SUVs and it fits good. I don't have the part number.

Yep Pep Boys. I just looked for the cover that would fit the length of the rail......

Murph you gave me the info before but I couldn’t find it. Thanks again. thumb.gif
Do you think that it will still work with my light bar on top?
socaldmax
Cut a hole in the top for the light bar.

Are those Pep Boys car covers waterproof? If so, they look like they'd be perfect. They look like they fit a little bit better than the Costco one I bought, but the Costco car cover is waterproof.

We sell a nice cover here at work for the Jeep unlimited that might work. It fits over the hard top. I will check the length. If they are big enough I can get them at cost and save you a few bucks....

Ugg...I could be wrong...but if your car gets salt water on it at night, your parked way to close to the water...

Condensation does not have salt in it...and salt does not evaporate with the water...

You may get salt on your car while driving, then the condensation makes it wet again...but a cover wont keep the salt off your car.

But if you want to keep the fresh water off your car...thats a different thing...

This might be true but why do peoples crap that live close to the beach get rusty faster then somebody that lives more inland?
dunetrash
I bought mine from Kragen. It was for a large car. It covered everything and worked great.

Because there is MORE moisture in the air...there is no salt in the air...well, thats not completly true, if there is a mist from the ocean, the salt will be in the ocean mist...but a mist will only carry so far...and may carry further at night...

BeachHead
And at pismo, that mist is blown right onto your camp, and onto your toys. A cover is an excellent idea. Plus, with your car, it might help keep the thieves from messing with it if they can't see it.

OK I’ll take that.

But you have to agree it’s a good idea to cover at night to keep the moisture off of it? And possibly a little bit of salt? icon_wink.gif

The thief thing was another reason why I wanted one. Also I want to cover it while it’s my garage. I just cleaned the thing all up a few weeks ago and it’s all dusty again from sitting in the garage. Plus people driving by might just think its some regular car and not a sand rail.

It is a great idea. If the wind is blowing you are going to get salt water so a cover will help a lot

Absolutly...If you have dried salt on your car, the moisture will "re-activate" the chassis eating monsters in the salt..Sure its a great idea...

I would have but I didn’t have Justin to change the paddles every night for me. icon_biggrin.gif

By the way Murph I bought the one you did and it fit good. It just didn’t cover the rear wheels like yours does. The light bar took up that slack in the back.
Pattch
Pep Boys and Kregan have one with some cool flames on it. dude.gif
