There is an article in this weeks Time Mag titled "How Green is the White House?" Glamis is mentioned......."the Bush Administration plans to allow off road vehicles back on 50,000 acres of the Imperial Sand Dunes, near San Diego." Cool. That portion of the article is about the Bush Administration favoring the use of public lands by sportmans and corporations. The next line reads "And later this month the administration is likely to issue a rule clearing legal hurdles for coal mining companys to to dump waste into streams after ripping the tops off of mountains." Not cool. It seems to me that OHV use and minning seemed to be always grouped together in the media, I know that they are both controlled by the dept of the Interior somewhat but my uncle used to work for Kaiser minning and after seeing some of their mines in person, there is no comparison, not that we don't need mines.
