I just wanted to let all of you faithful sandrail folks know about another new GD.com sponsor...House of Buggies. They have their own forum in the "best of " section, and here's a link to a "welcome" thread already going on in their forum section:

It's the least I can do for all the help and support we have already gotten.
House Of Buggies has been around for a long time. From what I understand they were really something back in the day. Larry has since passed on and now John is running things. We are trying to rebuild what we hope will be a good alternative for people to buy parts and someday buy cars. We already fix things. A new desert car is in the works. We also have a Chassis Dyno for those that would like that service as well. We are in a little building in Santee down the street from Johnsons. If you blink too hard you will miss it while flying down the road. We hope to change that soon.
Thanks again everyone for all the support since I have been coming here even before I was with House Of Buggies.
House Of Buggies NEW Web SitePlease check out the web site and let us know if there is anything we are missing. I know we are short on content on several pages but all in time.
Thanks Again

I forgot to ad that I would love for eveyone to check our on line store. Still needs stuff but does it look ok? CNC Brakes is the one place that has really helped us out on store content. Things are pretty slow there. Just did not know if it's how the store looks or if the prices are crazy. Maybe it just needs more pictures. Is there something that needs to be on there that just isn't?

Well, from what I see on the Store part... I think pictures would definitly help! I was looking for your wheels selection too... nothing there. Espcially the billet section... the pics are a must!! Maybe add billet rear view mirrors... those seem to sell pretty well too.
Just my opinion... kinda hard to buy something if you don't know what it looks like.

Hi Monica,
I totally agree about the pictures. We just have not gotten much traffic there to justify putting in the time. I will need to start though since we are starting to get the traffic. The past few hours have been great. Thanks for taking the time to look. Wheels and billet stuff I will add. We are working on gauge consoles too. Not much out there that is very exciting.

Welcome! I'm a big supporter of web sites so get yours filled up and running ASAP...It does make a difference. If I'm looking for something, the first thing I do is hit the web. If it's not there, you'll probably never hear for me. And for the life of me I can't see why more business don't put more time into their web site. Again, welcome to the GD.com world...I wish you all the best.

I wish I could have saved the old version of the web site. It was really awful. Some body came in the shop years ago and told him this and that and John did not know any better so for lots of money he ended up with a 5 page cookie cutter site with no personality. So things are looking better. I will keep everyone informed of new stuff and updated stuff. Thanks again for taking the time to look. I don't know unless someone tells me. I tend to get tunnel vision.

You can't go wrong w/ a Yahoo! store. People trust them and things tend to work pretty well. But as everyone has noted, the pics are key.
In regards to getting more traffic, I'd suggest looking at
Search Marketing. Both Yahoo! and Google offer the same sorts of solutions, and to get the most traffic, you should use them both. I notice that not too many people advertise right now for buggy related terms. So the traffic should be cheap. Drop me a PM if you need some help w/ this stuff. I know it pretty well.

Welcome to the board. As Buckwheat says, search optimization, metafile key words, etc. are some of the 1st places to start for a successful web presence.
Thanks for supporting the site, wonderful folks like you help keep it free for bums like me.
P.S. If possible, you might want to find another land mark to associate yourself with. Johnson's leaves a bad taste when you have to say it.

I agree with the pic's. Some things (since I am new to buggies) I have no clue what they look like. For instance the oil pump puller tool.
Need pic's! They speak volumes IMO.
Maybe take pic's of a couple dozen items every couple weeks and add them.
Nice site though!

Excellent, thanks for the support. I will stop by and say hi. Gald to have another option from Johnsons and Fibertech. I wont go to Johnsons. They never have what you need.

Well since we are a pretty small shop it's hard to keep a large inventory of things. But through the joy of technology it's just as easy to email me and I can let you know the price and availability. Since I don't have a real job it's not too hard to keep on top of the emails.
