I admit this was supposed to be an "off topic", talk crap section, and with my computer problems of the last week, I haven't hardly "modded" this area lately, but it sure has degenerated into stuff worse than anything in the old PW section.

Can we please remember this is a FAMILY board, and that our KIDS can get into this section, and maybe tone it down a bit while still using it for the fun, light area it was intended to be?

For once I can honestly say... "Wasn't me."

I'd like to, but I'm not sure I can find the right words. I mean, I see the humor, but I am also disgusted on many different levels. I was hoping this section could be for the fun stuff, and leave the "tech" section for strictly technical discussions, yet, it's turned into more of a "bash your buddy with a picture of a fat girl or with gay guys" section.

It was funny the first time, yet after a while, it gets rather old. And I think that it's discouraging those who would like to use this section for something else. And as the pics get grosser and grosser, crossing the line into porn, it's completely disrespectful to Slappy and his vision for the board, not to mention other members, and even businesses that put up their hard earned $$'s to sponsor the site for all of us to use for free.

It's just time to draw the line and get things back on track. And that's what Slappy's paying me the big bucks to do...

Very well said Bob. I have enjoyed reading most of the stuff posted in this forum but some of the pics are a little out there. Keep up the good posts and remember if you wouldn't want your kids to see the pic's your about to post then don't post them for your kids sake...

I don't think kids should be allowed in this forum, they have several forums for kids only, where adults are not allowed to post, so I see no reason why anyone under 18 should be in this forum.

This was an offshoot of sandrail tech, which shouldn't draw *much* of a female or children crowd, so let's make it visible only to those 18 and up.

hmmm....well, slappy's been pretty willing to accomodate what people want. I'm open to the idea of adult only access, but I don't think it's gonna make a difference with regards to the porn standards.

I'm also not looking to make a "free for all" section..but I do recognize that MANY of the buggy folks don't use the other sections of the forum, and did envision this as sort of an "off topic" area. So, until things have gotten really out of hand, I've been pretty "hands off" in here.

I'll start a poll...lets see what those who are using this section feel about "adult only" access. If the majority say yes, I'll start a dialog with slappy/pastor/esco about it. fair enough?

BTW, I do agree that some of the pics basically crossed the line and were gross.The problem is, everyone has a diferent idea of gross.

There's no easy answer.

I think that's why slappy has some easy rules with regards to porn...no nips, or crotch shots. We can all figure out what those are.. And I will agree, it's tough to regulate "taste". And actually that's partly where the mod comes in. In this case, things had deteriorated beyond what I think a fairly reasonable person would consider acceptable.

It's much like the argument about the pw area...if you want to post porn and tasteless pics, there are plenty of places that feature just that activity. I believe that GD.com's "mission" does not really include that...so even if this were "adult only", I can say that I don't think things would have gone any further than they did without some goofy dude having to spoil the party...
