>
> Glen Canyon NRA Superintendent Kitty Roberts has scheduled two
> "informational presentations" regarding the impending PWC restrictions
> scheduled to go into effect on September 15, 2002. The two meetings
> are reportedly designed to help PWC owners understand the process that
> park managers are going through in order to develop PWC regulations.
>
> "We understand and appreciate the concerns expressed over this
> anticipated closure," said Superintendent Roberts. "We encourage
> people to come out and learn how Glen Canyon NRA staff are preparing
> to deal with the closure."

> Park officials and the AWA expect the September 15 ban to be temporary,

some
> time to complete.
>
> The AWA will be in attendance, and encourages all PWC owners in the

Good. I hate those little ski-doos that all those clowns are riding around out there.

Ski-doos suck!!!!!!!!!

5th gear, I would agree with you to a point. I can't stand them for the most part, but the incredible places you can go to on Lake Powell with a PWC are inspirational. Long narrow canyons that are awesome, and you can't get a boat up that far. Miles and Miles of these canyons.

But this closure is just the beginning. Once they outlaw PWC, they will be doing noise testing on the lake, and then all boats will be banned. The enviro wackos are taking one step at a time to outlaw motorized vehicles from everywhere but the highways. Heck the Sierra club has talked about draining Lake Powell. Imagine draining a Lake that has more shoreline than the coast of California???? Incredible!!!!!

5thgear, someone once said something like:

In Germany they first came for the
Communists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a
Communist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a
Jew.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a
trade unionist.

Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak up because I was a
Protestant.

Then they came for me -
and by that time no one was left to speak
up.

Or maybe this makes more sense.

First they came for the motorcycles, and I did not speak out - because I was not a motorcyclist.

Then they came for the quads, and I did not speak out - because I didn't ride a quad.

Then they came for the Jeeps and the rock crawlers,
and I did not speak out -
because I didn't own a Jeep or a rock crawler.

Then they came for the duners and I did not speak out -
because I was not a duner.

Next they came for the PWCs, and I didn't say a word, I
actually cheered them on, because I have a boat, and those little suckers annoy me.

Then they came for my boat - and by then there was no one left to speak out for me, but there were a lot of people pointing and laughing.
