So I was watching the tv when I saw an ad for a new game for the nintendo game cube where Mario has his trusty water cannon and goes around cleaning up pollution. What's up wih that? Tell me the Sierra Club doesn't have a stake in that one!
I don't mind them coming out with a game like that but I get the feeling this game is just a tool for an enviro group. Anyone have more inforation on this?

this?
http://www.nintendo.com/games/gamepage/gam....jsp?gameId=824 quote:
When Mario, Peach and an entourage of her loyal Toad friends set out for a tropical vacation on lovely Isle Delfino, they're in store for much more than a relaxing holiday. A mustachioed maniac has mucked up the entire island, and Mario is accused of committing the crime.
Armed with a hi-tech water cannon called FLUDD (Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device), Mario sets out to clean the island, clear his name, and solve the mystery of the villainous vandal.
this is brainwashing lil kids to care about the environment?

I never mentioned brain washing. Besides, most little kids do care about the enviroment. Ask any 6 or seven year old if they think it is ok to destroy nature and they will tell you no.
The link you provided gave information that didn't quite match up the the commercial I saw. The commercial gave me the idea that the point of the game was the "bad guy" had polluted the island and it was Mario's mission to clean up all the toxic sludge before he could enjoy his vacation. I believe pollution was mentioned.

This type of game would never be financially viable if the "heads full of mush" hadn't been "polluted" with propoganda in the public schools already.
You can talk to kids today about the environment and they will most certainly tell you all about how man is destroying the environment. The problem is that they are only repeating exactly what has been drilled into them by the school system. They don't know what is fact and what is fiction, only what they are told. So, for example, if you ask kids what they feel about "Global Warming" the overwhelming response will be that "Global Warming is going to destroy the Earth." Now, I know that there is a FACTION that believes this, it is FAR from FACT that Global Warming is going to "destroy the Earth" and is infact a hotly debated issue with pros and cons on both sides of the argument.
Unfortunantly our children only get to hear one side of the argument and they don't know how to "question" what they are being told.
THIS, in my opinion, will come closer to "destroying the Earth" than Global Warming EVER will.

do you have kids? when do you talk to kids about issues?
the issue with global warming isn't that it's going to destroy the earth, blockhead, it's that it's going to alter the atmosphere that sustains HUMAN LIFE!
Of course, if you're going to kill yourself soon anyway on your dirt bike, why should we expect you to give a damn?

Don't start with the namecalling...
Whether I have kids or not is a non-issue. No, I do not have any kids of my own. But, I have a great many number of kid friends. I also watch the news.
I've seen the stories. I've seen the studies where the kids are asked these questions on camera. And I've been told by the kids themselves.
Only you would pick the difference between "destroying the Earth" and "Destroying the atmosphere" as a point of dispute in a debate about how our kids are brainwashed by the Liberal's in our public schools.
I wonder how many 7 year old kids would make the distinction.
BTW: I don't ride a dirt bike and I have no intention of killing myself.
On a personal note, this don't sound like you. Having a bad day?

whoa, calm down Blu. I agree with Vor. Kids these days aren't taught to be thinkers. Thier not taught to question. If a teachers say's the sky is blue, they don't ask why. Questioning, and challenging conventional ways of thinking are one of the rights and responsabilities that we enjoy in this country. I think the game is a good idea but will probably only sell well with the portion of the gaming community who are too young to decide what games they can play.
In other words it's gonna be a flop with the 10 and up crowd.
On a personal note Blu, Vor is well respected by an overwhelming majority of people on this board and you should think twice before calling someone like him a blockhead.

Now now, I don't mind being called a blockhead from time to time. God knows I deserve it!
It just seemed out of character is all...
I've had my share of off days myself...
