LIVE FREE OR DIE!

For more than three decades, "GREEN INC." (a term for the informal, global, environmental conglomerate that includes the WWF, Greenpeace, Earth First, CBD, The Sierra Club, and scores of similar organizations and their supporters) have been selling a new religious belief ; the idea that the Earth is going to hell and that the only way to save it is to live our lives the way they say and of course, to send them LOTS of money!
By claiming the world will soon end, "GREEN INC." has raised BILLIONS of dollars over the past 30 years. It's also gained enormous power, attracted the support of grant-guzzling academic hacks by the truckload, corrupted scientific reporting to the extent that real environmental problems are vastly misunderstood, all by marketing DISASTER. No disasters, No problem! A few pictures of a oily bird and bingo, you're back in business, BIG BUSINESS! Think of it as a big green ENRON and you'll get the idea.

However the "GREEN INC." deception just doesn't hold up to scientific scrutiny.

1. Globally, people are eating much more and starving muck less.
2. As a species we are living twice as long as our ancestors.
3.According to the U.N. we've done more to reduce poverty in the last 50 years than we did in the previous half millennium.
4. There is no conclusive date to prove that temperature increases are part of a global warming trend.
5. According to the U.N.'s Intergoverment Panel on climate change, we will enjoy an estimated 30 percent increase in crop yeilds in crops like wheat and rice, the stuff poor people eat most.
6. Today there are 100 MILLION more acres of tree's than there were in the early 20th century.
7. In North America, Europe, and Russia, forest have actually grown in size over the last 40 years.
8. The U.N.'s Food and Agricultural Org. reported that deforestation in the Tropics is in decline and, in 2001 amounted to an overall reduction of only 0.46 percent.
9. The University of Aarhus Lumborg reports that the forest in the entire Amazon region is only about 14 percent smaller than it was when the first humans showed up and, that about 3 percent of that has grown back.
10. In 1990 an iternational consortium of environmental and conservational organizations decided to find out the total number of extinctions. They found that only about 1,000 extinctions have been documented since the year 1600. Thats out of some 1.6 MILLION species.

The claim that our environment is doing well ENRAGES "GREEN INC.". There is a lot of money and power at stake, so when critics step forward, environmentalist do their best to stomp them out. Greenpeace cofounder Patrick Moore, who now condems the movements manipulation of pseudo scientific facts, is now targeted as a Judas. In Lombergs book, The Skeptical Environmentalist, has so enraged "GREEN INC." that many have set up web-pages and sent out press-releases telling journalists how they should "SPIN" books like Lombergs and those by dissenting environmentalist. Journalist have obliged, When Lomberg tried to defend himself with a point by point argument against a critique that appeared in Scientific American, the magazine threatened to sue him. Lamborgs sin; claiming that we're doing well but not as well as we could be doing. That's a reasonable judgment. But saying we're doing well won't do much to keep "GREEN INC." in business, and that is a real environmental disaster!

Any publicity is good publicity, or so I learned in college. Thanks for the info there dezfan. Could you clear up one question I have. How do we show our hatred towards the individual "GREEN INC" supporter? How do we identify them? And once we do know who they are, do we physically hurt them or just take away their rights as Americans?

I just wanna know, cause you know the saying "your either part of the problem or part of the solution" and I think this one needs solving

Hatred is not the word I would use. Disparate may be more appropriate. As far as identifying them, well that should be fairly easy. Not to interpose Blu in this thread but, It's that type of person I feel deserve the "GREEN INC." label. And as far as physically hurting them and taking away their rights? Where did that come from? While I do NOT agree with what "GREEN INC." has to say, I do believe they have the right to say it. And while I agree with your statement about being part of the problem or part of the solution, Violence is not the solution! Debate (and faith in common sense) is the only path of change I believe in!
