The Bush administration plans to allow more snowmobiles in Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks on average, while cutting numbers on the busiest days. The decision reverses one taken during the Clinton presidency that would have banned them by next winter.

There would be no limits on snowmobiles for the winter season beginning next month and running until mid-March, Interior Department officials said.

Hmmm sounds like there are still limits on the number of users. [Frown] I guess if your one of the 1,100 its cool. I don't think progress is cutting off access to 1/3 of the users but I guess its better than nothing.

If this is an example of a victory, is Bush going to kick all but 1/3 of Sadams ass too? Stop all but 1/3 of terrorists? Go TEAM!!!! [Wink]

Come on Bubba, why are you ALWAYS so negative? Under the Clinton plan the total number of users would be 0! Under the Bush plan the total number of users will actually INCREASE! It's only during "peak" usage that the number of users will be reduced. Over all, from a number of 0 to any increase is a victory in my eyes!

I don't know if you were asking ME bout G But thats why I responded the way I did.

IT WOULD SUCK IF THEY DID THAT AT GLAMIS.

And DF I don't think I'm ALWAYS negative.
AND ANOTHER THING.

Why do "they" always say "during Clinton's term"? This gives the impression that Clinton himself planed on closing the park to snowmobiles, or closing the dunes and a whole host of other things. This gives him WAAAAAAAAAAAAY TOO MUCH power. I drank like a fish when Clinton was in power. I had a Stroke too. Does this mean if Bush is in office I won't drink or have illnesses? NO. Did I vote for Clinton? NO. Do I think in whole he did good for the country YES. Would I want my daughter to be an intern NO. Things just happened while he was in office that weren't along the lines of what the OHV community liked. He didn't close ANYTHING. That means BUSH can't OPEN ANYTHING. The reason this bothers me is it leaves most people who have the energy and zeal to do something thinking that bush will solve their problems with closures and alike, and that's not the case. I have a friend who said, "Hey I voted for Bush. I did my part to get the dunes reopened" I just wonder how many people think the same.

Sorry. I'll get off it now.

We say under the "Clinton" plan because it was "Clinton" that nominated eco-idiots like Bruce Babbit! It was "Clinton" who had Al Gore as a running mate!(and he is the biggest eco-nut of them all!) It was "Clinton" that in the last few days of office closed large portions of public land through Presidential Proclamation, bypassing the legislative branch all together! Need I say more! Look I'm not saying that Clinton was a bad guy, hell I'd love to get a "HUMMER" at work from some young thing too! [Big Grin] But, his record in the public land access issue "SUCKED"(no pun intended!) if you were an OHV enthusiast! [Mad]

Well you may be right Red, Clinton might not have been the culprit,( He was probably chasing after other things) but Al Gore was part of the Clinton Administration No?

Clinton was fully aware of the closures. How can the VP make those decisions without first consulting a board or the top dog himself?
The proof is in the pudding.. nobody gets a BJ in the white house with out the pres knowing about it! Maybe if he was more involved with politics and less with interns this conversation would not be happening.
