I think it really is more about the 'cool factor' (still very valid) than the raw performance. Then there is the "450 HP isn't good enough anymore because Sam has 510" syndrome (Still somewhat valid).

I hear ya. I'm running a Honda 3.2 but hear all the talk about 3.5 turbos and want one. Problems is I'm still putting the car together and it hasn't seen the sand yet. Have to step back and remember that no matter what you have there is always someone that has more money to burn then you do.

This very thing is killing me too, Im about to pull the plug on the monster to allow the squirel to come back.

My wife likes the dunes but still keeps me in check on the spending. It can be
a battle. This week my 13 year old said "Dad can we have a buggy before you landscape the backyard". Its only been 2 1/2 years in the new house. When I sold her blaster last time to build the Limo she got mad. This time she has no problem selling it.

I was in the same boat when I built my car..I went from a 410HP ls1 and a mendi 2d to 500Hp ls1 and a mende S4. Also added 5 HID's alum console, radiator cover, full body and the list goes on and on..I think for abround 2 weeks straight I called Darren at Sandco almost everyday and added some stuff

I remember my first buggy, 2 seater 1835 made out of gas pipe, I had so much fun in that car, the wife and my first "weekend" was New Years at the desert, that was about 8 or 9 years ago.

I know I will have a ton of fun in the new car, but I bought it for me, not because I want to impress the guy sitting in his 350hp golf cart.

Dont get me wrong, I dropped dime on my car, but right now it is plenty, I like to have a bunch of nice different things, instead of one super cool one. AND I am also saving my pennies for a '39 Studebaker that I have some crazy plans for. Can we say BLOWN Hemi?
