I've been hearing on the news about recent attacks on the SUV industry, so surfing around I found this. How can they possibly be getting away with this? They are glorifying vandalism . One can only hope this isn't going to catch on as the new way to voice their protests.

I'd get a permanent marker and write "And Love It"
at the end, just to **** em off.

Along the same line of this thread, here is an idea that has been floating around in Arianna Huffington's head (she's a left wing pundit)as a way to both combat SUV pollution and take a jab at our President and the drugs support terrorism spot that has been running:

T.V. Commercial

Open on a man at a gas station, features a cute kid's voice-over throughout:

"This is George."

Cut to a close-up of a gas pump.

"This is the gas George buys for his car."

Next we see a guy in a suit.

"This is the oil company executive who makes money on the gas George buys."

Close-up on al-Qaida training film footage:

"This is the terrorist organization supported by money from the country where the oil company does business."

It's followed by footage of 9/11:

"We all know what this is."

Close on a wide shot of bumper-to-bumper traffic:

"The biggest weapon of mass destruction is parked in your driveway."

I think it's funny as ****.

an old friend of mine once voiced his opinion at me..

I told him I sleep better at night knowing in a crash, my wife and kids have a better chance then the tree hugging eco freak in his mini electric car.

He did not like my answer but its true! Try putting two kids and all their gear in a small car.. and then grocerys or what ever.. NOPE!

This is the US. .where bigger is better..

Any message that is crammed down your throat was probably not worthy of your brain. When in-your-face activism becomes the norm, then the activists' message has failed.

Why do I drive it? Because I can. I pay for the gas and all the extra effen taxes and crap. I pay for the smog check. I pay for the taxes on my registration. I pay, therefore I CAN.

If I want to fill my tank and run my van, IDLING in the driveway for days..... I CAN..

It's my van, I'll do with it what I will.

I seem to remember a conversation with a buddy of mine, "I wonder how many ecos we could pile into that thing...

I think I figured something like 50 or so, if you pile them head to toe!

What is so funny about that?

To h e l l with the greenies. I'm a capitalist.

Our economy is based almost completely on oil, and oil is a finite resource.

That spells trouble somewhere off in the future. Probably for our kids.

Right now it spells trouble for our boys who are going to go risk their lives in the sand. Why? Cause Saddam is a bad guy? No. Cause he's a bad guy on top of a bunch of oil.

That being said. I DO love the sound of a Chevy 327 that's running a little rich.
