Voice: Glamis crime rate nothing when compared to Chargers-Raiders game
According to my calculations, based on person-hours of participation, it was 98 times more likely that an attendee at the Dec. 8 Chargers-Raiders game would be arrested than a duner during the Thanksgiving weekend in Glamis.
So, does the National Guard clear out the view level after the third quarter? Clear out the parking lot immediately after the game and check to see who is intoxicated at the exits? Check licenses and registration on all vehicles coming and going?
Maybe do nothing because NFL game violence is a necessary evil balanced against profit and no profit (at least to the authorities) is made in Glamis.
A myriad of political forces are at work regarding Glamis. Maybe even better than 98 times the opposition to our local NFL franchise and its acceptable crime.
So the game goes on with no effect from the attendant crime and the relatively mild (in comparison) weekend in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation area goes to press sounding like Hitler invading Poland.
Maybe the Imperial County sheriff needs a sense of perspective? Anyone have his donor list from the last election?
