Of course let's not forget the completely loaded toyhauler/vacation trailer with 5 KW generator to run their air conditioners and freezers so they can forget they're at the desert.

Here's the main link:
http://www.desertusa.com/mb/
The two main forums are:
Desert Environmental and Land Use Issues
and
Off-Road Travel and Activities NEW
I'd caution any new users against going in there all gangbusters and attacking the "enviro" crowd. I made that mistake. Eventually I realized that most posters there are reasonable and respectful (except for you-know-blu).
By the way, I post over there as "jkp"
Bluesky
Oct 5 2002, 01:12 PM
jkp also does a lot of anonymous posting over there.
When he first started posting over there he started demanding that the webmaster institute a sign-in policy so he could know who was making anonymous snide remarks (not me--for reals!).
the general feeling of the other posters was that we could deal with the occasional anoymous post, so they left it open.
Now guess which hypocrite likes to post anonymous snide comments?
his initials are jkp
If it is anonymous how do you know it is him?
Poiks

Blu is having a little trouble with her memory here--kind of like trying to differentiate between her ass, her mouth, and her fingers--all of which spew pure, stinking ****.
I (aka jkp) do NOT post anonymously on DesertUSA--or anyone else.
It is true that I advocated for a sign-in system on their forums, but not because of snide, anonymous posts. The problem on DesertUSA was that people were making posts in other users' names--since there was no sign-in or password, site users could post under whatever name they wanted. There was a spate of bogus posts on both sides of the OHV issue. It was impossible to tell who wrote what, because often when you read a post, you read a follow up under the same name saying "that wasn't me!"
Most of the OHV users on DesertUSA supported the idea of a sign-in system, because most of the anoymous posting was anti-OHV. Blu was a strong advocate of leaving it like it is--users can post without any name or e-mail, or with someone else's. ANYONE can post anonymously. Blu likes it that way. That way, Blu can occasionally "invent" someone who supports her bizarre positions, theories, and paranoias.
Blu is angry with me, because when she makes an ass of herself on one forum, I make sure it follows her to the other forums she frequents. It was on DesertUSA where she admits to driving a greenhouse-gas-spewing, old-school emissions '81 Nissan pickup. She also admitted to driving in the dry washes, which she has previously described as "preferred Desert Tortoise Habitat."
Suprising? No. Hypocrisy is at the very core of the modern-day radical environmentalist movement. If I had a movement like that--I'd flush.

Thanks for the info, I would like to post there but did'nt know were to go. As for Bluser, I've given up on him-her-it or whatever BS is. You cant get a straight answer out of BS, If you believe in your fight then why hide in anonymity, why not answer a question, why not provide a little proof to back up your statements!

I dont know Blu, maybe it was the Ol' Roddster! Why is it that you can post on a board where you know your not welcome, but when someone else uses another name on another site they are hypocrites! My use of "jkp" wasn't even intentionally to use a different name. My name on GlamisDunes and the ASA board used to be jkp, but I'm trying to standardize. Because poiks is my domain name, I've started using poiks. Maybe I'll start using that on DesertUSA, too--if it'll keep blu happy!

Let alone a 21 year old truck that by BS's own admission has been neglected and not maintained:
quote:
I drive a 1981 Nissan pickup with the original shocks (150,000mi). I can go anywhere in the desert that there is a navigable road (I am careful not to get stuck when a road crosses a dry wash) It's got an automatic tranny and stock tires. I drive over washboard roads and don't feel a thing! It's even got a heater! I can carry out a load of trash in the bed. I paid $1000 for it 4 or 5 years ago. If you're looking for common sense, affordable transportation for the desert roads, you can't beat it! It runs great on paved roads too and I get about 20 mpg.

Oh I missed that part:
"I drive over washboard roads and don't feel a thing! It's even got a heater! I can carry out a load of trash in the bed. I paid $1000 for it 4 or 5 years ago"
Lets analyze this small portion of his braggard statement(hee hee):
1.) I drive over washboard roads and don't feel a thing.
Could this be from the constant butt kickings you receive on this and other boards you spout your dribble on?
2.)It even has a heater.
I believe even in 1981 that a heater was standard equipment and NOT the rarity option that "some" people seem to think it is.
3.) I can carry out a load of trash in the bed.
Well since theres so much garbage spewed forth from inside the cab, some way to haul it is a must.
4.)I paid $1000 for it 4 or 5 years ago.
This can only mean one thing. The price of granola is up and that spiffy new "Save the desert tortoise" lunchbox might not have been such a good idea.
"This has been a Meathead production" Thank you

Speaking of meatheads--
"Analized"--even when spelled incorrectly, though certainly more relevant in Bluesky's case--is a verb. One describes verbs with adverbs, not adjectives. The word you were looking for, meathead, was "well."
