Maybe it's just me. It seems like when Blu starts getting hit with the truth he runs out. Can't stand a true fact. When he is shown to be wrong , up and gone.

I think I would lose faith and quit trying so hard to be a loser like he tries to be. Given the true facts and he will try to turn it and question it to steer you away from the truth. He is a sore loser.
