( This Patterson guy has been quoted as saying that he wants these interim closures to become permanent in the West Mojave Plan, and he has grown accustomed to getting whatever he wants. The BLM just rolls over whenever the CBD waves litigation in their face. The CBD now runs the desert.)

The sad part about this is , this is actually what the wacko's beleave. I think we should wave a few law suites in this jerk pattersons face.
He by what I've read on his quotes and comments is the only thing he is an expert in is lying and being stupid.
Bluesky
The West Mojave Plan was crafted over a period of 10 years by a coalition of counties, cities, wildlife agencies, affected businesses, a heavy presence of off-road advocates, the green groups like Sierra Club and CBD and a few plain ol Americans.

The only permanent changes to OHV in the West Mojave will be the designation of routes.
Though this was called for in the Desert Plan of 1983 (CDCA), BLM never got around to designating routes, so OHVs just drove everywhere and proliferated a whole bunch of new trails. Now some of those trails will be closed and restored. Trail riding in Limited Use areas will be allowed only on routes signed OPEN by the BLM (or on your own property or with written permission if it's private land).

Wouldn't you say it's about time?
