here ya go...
2001 FS62
I ended up switching to 16" rims - Eagle Alloys part #0550-7766 (they are the ONLY 16" rim that will fit inside the wheel housings) and Michelin XPS Rib 225/75R16. My trailer tows a whole lot better without the silly *radial* tires that it came with!
btw...i made this change in 2004. tires probably have about 10k miles on them now...and they are holding up just perfectly!I know a couple of other peeps used this same set up. Maybe they could post what trailers they have, and how it worked out for them!

I added the EXACT same setup to my FS3000.
I towed about 6000 miles worth before I sold that trailer.
I took the 16's off my old trailer and will put them on my new one.
I love these wheels/tires.
I did get a little bit of rubbing on the inside when I had my buggy loaded up.
Before I got my buggy with just my quads and golf cart, I never had any rubbing.
The Ribs are a VERY tough tire.

I have to wonder if this tire wheel combo will fit my Super Lite? I know I don't need the extra weight handling of the XPS, but if I bought new tires for truck for the extra safety, it would make sense to get the extra insurance for the trailer as well.
Also, those are some damn cute kids in that picture.

hehe...too bad they dont get along with your daughter at all eh??

when u guys comin over and goin for a swim? it pretty damm hot these days!!
they reason they fit on the WW is that the back spacing is *exactly the same* as the stock wheel. it gets wider in both directions evenly.
check the back spacing on your wheels and see what it is. and see how much clearance you have on the in and outside of the tire. if everything is even...and the back space is the same...the should fit up in there no problem.
as u can see in the pic...its pretty damm close...but mine dont hit at all!!!

Rims are about $90-95 with caps. The tires vary, XPS ribs are pretty pricey, I got Heritage tires for about $90 ea, same weight rating as the XPS ribs.
All done for just under $1300 for 7.

im keeping this option in mind when it comes time to replace the tires on my trailer since i dont know how long theyve been on there. right now ive got the chrome 15inch wheels with 225/75R15 load range D Nankang tires. they rub the tops of the wheel wells when going thru good size dips or whenever one axle drops and the other is all the way up. its also a hell of a job to put the wheels on(have to jack up one axle so the other will drop and give enough clearence) how much taller will the 16's be over the 15's?

I have had a few blowouts, throw away the jack. Bring enough blocks so you can drive up on them with the good tire, and the other will be sitting nice and low and it will be easy to pull the tire off. The other good thing, you stay cleaner because you aren't laying under the trailer looking for a jacking point.
Do we know if these tire/rim combo will work on all Weekend Warriors?

i do not know that answer for sure. i know the eagle i mentioned has the exact same back spacing as the the chrome wheels i replaced. i look for a pic of the original wheels, so you can see which ones they were.

I'm sure I asked you this before, but I'm suffering from CRS.
Did you get these locally?
Also, does anyone have any experience with anything type of gadget like these? (Shown below)
I'm wondering if it would put too much weight on the single axle when the trailer is fully loaded?

My date on my Rib tires is 0503, so I am over 4 years.
I am getting some ozone cracking.
Will get new tires before dune season starts.
I'm hoping for some good "adjustment" value since they do not wear out in tread depth.

cause i just had em replaced!!! when the trailer was at WW for service last time, they put nails in THREE of my tires. (nice eh?) they steped up and bought me three new tires, and i used my spare for the fourth. i kept the best tire for a my spare, and now have four new tires on the trailer.
i use my trailer, it does not sit. michelins web site says normal use will release polymers they put in the sidewalls to keep the sidewalls from cracking. if you Dont use your trailer regularly, cover the tires so the sun wont hit em. this will also keep em from cracking. and never put armor-all on em! a little prevention goes a looooooooooooooooog way!

I have some 4 year old cracking Remington LT225/75R16 E rated tires. On this board's advice I went to Costco to get some Michellin XPS Ribs. They said they could not put ribs on the trailer because the XPS are not intended for use on trailers but should be used for RV's like motorhomes. I went to an adjacent tire store and they told me the same and the trailer would drift side to side.
With two stores telling me the same, I opted out. The tire store suggested the only 16" E rated trailer tire, Maxxis ST 235/80R16 at $116 each.
Just FYI. Anyone know if the XPS Ribs really do have that radial drift?

Whoooohooooo, got 7 brand new Ribs put on my trailer last week.
Covered under warranty.
They were 3 years old and had major cracking.
Only had 1/32" used on the tread.
I made 14 trips last season, 12 the season before and 9 the season before, that just shows you how little these tires wear.
I am ready for the season!!!!!!!!!

I have to wonder if this tire wheel combo will fit my Super Lite?
I seriously doubt they will fit I can't even run 225/75 on my FS2300 without the tires rubbing on the fenders. Only thing I have feft to try is flipping the Axle to run the 225/75. SL's by the way run 205/75 and the 75% of the 20 of 225 is where the rub is . If anybody has a better idea I am willing to listen after 7 D rated tires in 2 seasons Im at the end of my rope.

I just installed 4 225/75R15 tires on my FS2300 today. I can't do the 16's yet, but the 700 pounds more per tire in load carrying cap. should be more than I need, now have 10040 lbs. over the tires, with 3500 lbs axles (only 2)
Now in my research I did find out that Carlisle does make a load range D 205/75R-15 tire.. The tires on your trailer are load range C..
As far as rubbing, those fenders aren't going to hurt anything if it rubs a little..

I have 15" Denman tires on one of my trailers, IIRC I think they are load range E or are rated the same weight as an E rated tire. I'm very happy with them, even with hi speed runs thru NV, UT and ID in 110* heat.

Just a heads-up for anyone looking to upgrade.
I finally decided to pull the trigger and buy the tire/wheel combo recommended, but I was in for a disappointment.
It seems that they no longer manufacture the Eagle wheels.
I do a lot of business with a tire shop called Pacific Tire Motorsports in Redondo where I live and the guy who runs it, Armando, went the extra mile of looking high and low for the wheels. He called and spoke to the manager at the manufacturer and was told that they made the wheel specifically for WW and that they weren't a huge seller and once the run was gone they were done....unless someone wants to order a minimum of 200 units!
So he found a similar wheel, a 2mm difference on the offset, and ordered one to try on my '05 FS 2600.
As far as the tires go, the Michelin was on backorder for 4 weeks. The only other tire that is in the same league with the Michelin is a GoodYear tire - 10 ply, made in the USA, Not China and not cheap. About 30 bucks more than the Michelin in fact. He ordered one to look at and man I gotta tell you, the sidewall on that thing could stop a bullet!
He mounted it up so I could try it for size. I stopped by a buddy's to show him and he asked to try it on his '06 FB 2600. It was pretty tight and I almost decided to pass on this combo, but tried it on mine yesterday and it fit just fine. So be advised, there sure is a difference between models/years.
I'm bringing it in tomorrow morning to get them all mounted. I'll take some shots and write down all the specific model #'s, etc. after I'm 100% sure it all works as hoped.
